  • I asked specifically about other sites, then got directed over to the XDA site ?? For the rest of the thread I've been replying to comments posted by other forum members.

I never asked about the Galaxy, I asked about known problems regarding HTC and where I could find specific info.

However, as mention above, I have all the information to hand and am ready to buy. So bye bye :)

You have an attitude problem. I don't like when others act 'superior' to others because you came in to a small bit of money. I was deciding to purchase either the higher end 15 or higher end 17 inch MacBook Pro last week. But i didnt come on here criticizing people when they're only trying to help.

    Gl with your outdated HTC.

Im just very very unlucky! My Galaxy S2 developed a fault after 2 days, the Desire HD developed its first major fault about 6 weeks after purchase, and the fault that killed it about 5 weeks later :( I also bought an LG Optimus which didnt work from the start... before the Desire I had a Sony Ericsson Zylo which had a screen fail at 2 months and before that a Tocco Lite that failed at 10 months. I also have a Sony Ericsson Cedar which is absolutely brilliant and totally reliable, unfortunately its also crap as far as features/internet browsing are concerned. :D

Have had major issues with HTC aftercare - it doesn't exist.

HTC you will notice release a new phone at least once a month, this is becuase they aren't fixing or maturing handsets in the appropriate way, they just release a new one in the hope people will get the gag factor.

The old school HTC's built thier reputation for quality. The Desire came at the right time for the market - half the price of an iPhone for similar and in some cases better functionality. I've had three. All Broke on me. Network upgraded me to a HTC Desire S - its now faulty due to crap software - note, the networks push the software, not HTC, we have two Desire S's in the household, both same network - mine has a completely different software version to the other, mine keeps dropping off the network when switching type (it says its on the network with a signal bar, but it doesn't call or surf) - the other Desire S keeps dropping calls, and only works again when you reboot.

To be honest - the key thing to look for is BEYOND the product itself, HTC is not a good choice if you want quality product support - irritatingly the only 'company' (read as marketing brand) that actually looks after the end user is Apple (excuse me I'm off to wash for saying that out loud).
