I'm considering pampering myself with one of the high end HTC phones. ('cause I'm worth it and a tad minted at present)
I started some simple research and have established some HTC phones can be used has portable heaters, some have the so called 'death grip' and others need therapy to avoid constant reboots. OK, nothing new there for most technology.
But where would I go to find serious reliable truthful comments about HTC phones ?

Any particular reason for HTC? or do you mean android phones?
I have the HTC desire HD which is great but there are newer fancier ones out now, sensation etc.
If I was going to upgrade now I would probably go for the Samsung galaxy S2, but there are a lot of phones out and new ones coming out every month! It all comes down to what you want to do on it, play games listen to music, watch movies etc. do you want a big screen? (desire HD has a nice big screen) or a smaller lighter phone?
Best reading reviews online then going into a shop and trying out the ones you like the look of. The problem with asking on here is most people will only have experience with one of the top smart phones (the one they own) so cannot compare it to others very fairly, they can give feedback on it however.
A great source of info on all phones is xda-developers. A lot of the info is about rooting / jailbreaking but there is plenty of other info on the phones themselves. Have a read of the forums.0 -

I've played around with many makes and the HTC is my preferred choice. (Have had iphone, Samsung etc and not impressed)ridethelightning wrote: »It all comes down to what you want to do on it, play games listen to music, watch movies etc. do you want a big screen? I want it because 'I can have it', so I want the lot, features, screen size - the more it has the better it will be - size and dimensions are not a consideration for me (I have a large bag)

Thats why I'm looking for serious reliable truthful comments about HTC phones ?
. Recent comments suggest overheating, re-booting and software bugs.ridethelightning wrote: »A great source of info on all phones is xda-developers. A lot of the info is about rooting / jailbreaking but there is plenty of other info on the phones themselves. Have a read of the forums.
Good starting point

HTC Titan?
It's not yet released, so there's no feedback. It may act as a fan heater & lock-up. Plus the OS leaves me feeling suicidal.
The sensation could be a contender, but there still appears to be issues with it. I suppose comparisons are going to be made with the Desire HD.
All roads keep leading back to the desire. However, I would like to look over the wall (but preferably with Android).0 -
You may aswell wait for the HTC Sensation XE if you have money to burn0

Once again, its not released. I'm looking at HTC phones that DONT have any outstanding issues as detailed below.splashproof wrote: »I started some simple research and have established some HTC phones can be used has portable heaters, some have the so called 'death grip' and others need therapy to avoid constant reboots.0 -

The Desire HD is around a year old, and as has been mentioned it's already been superseeded by the Sensation, and the Sensation XE is due soon.
Bear in mind you'll probably have the phone a year to two are you sure you want a phone thats been out a year and been twice superceeded already ?0 -

The HTC Desire HD has had reliability issues, the Sensation hasnt, you said you wanted a high end HTC but none of the phones you've mentioned are. The Sensation XE launches in 2 weeks, I really don't see the point in spending a similar amount of money on a lesser handset0

I made mention of 'one' HTC phone - in the context of a comparison. You're mistaking other posters comments for mine
One again - I'm avoiding being a beta tester for HTC and therefore all the issues I've already listed. So new phones with unknown issues are not an option.
So I'm looking at the current HTC range. As one model comes out the price of the previous model is somewhat lower methinks. So its all relative.0
