HSBC PPI Claim Success!

  • If it is 28 days that's fine but why tell me 5? Good old HSBC
  • My HSBC Loan is = £15,000 at 8.9% back in 2004 ( for 8 years )

    Payments are = £381 a month ( including ppi )

I have made 83 payments of £381 and still have 13 left.

    A £15,000 loan over 8 years with 8.9% interest is £21,021

but i have already paid £31,623.

if i never put my claim for mis-sold ppi i would of paid back a grand-total
of £36,576 JUST for a £15,000 loan over 8 years.

I have already been to HSBC bank and the lady even said i will get my mis-sold money back. and i`m guessing that i have been paying ppi included into my loan with 8.9% interest since day one.

My question is: if i have paid them £31,623 already and i should of paid them WITHOUT ppi included £18,177.......should i get the difference back?????

( i am at my 10th week waiting for a final responce!! )

when the guy at HSBC finalized my loan he said for a £15,000 loan over 8 years with ppi included comes to £26,130.

THAT JUST DOES NOT ADD UP AT ALL!!!

if anyone can help me out with any of this or if someone is in a simulair situation i would be so grateful for your help and advice!

    Thankyou!

  • Has anyone actually had their money back yet? How long between you sending off the acceptance form and getting the money back in your bank.
  • Got my refund..9 working days after they received the acceptance letter.

    SOOOOO pleased its all over!!
  • So after waiting 15 working days i phone them up. Trns out they sent me the wrong acceptance form as my one did not require a signature and they cant pay out without a signature! Sent me another form to sign but as soon as i get my money i'm leaving HSBC
  • Hello

I have been going through the PPI process with HSBC regarding my credit card. I have recieved a letter saying that they will uphold my complaint and have therefore made me an offer.

However the offer they are making is from 2005 - 2012 and not from 2003 from when the PPi or credit card payment protector was added by them. HSBC have confirmed that the policy did start in 2003 however they do not hold statements past 6 years so unfortunately this will be their full and final offer

I have spoken to the FOS who are surprised that HSBC have not made an estimated offer, I have complained to HSBC saying that as a loyal banking customer of 20+ years they have not even attempted to estimate this even though they have confirmed the policy start date of 2003.

Unfortunately I only have one CC statement from this time and the PPI is of the smallest amount something like £12 however I know that the card was a lot higher than this in those 2 years something like £4500k so £0.79 for every £100

has anybody else had this problem and if so is there anything I can do about this. I feel gutted  as I feel that this is money that I am owed. Anybodys advice would be very much appreciated.

I know I could appeal through the FOS but have heard that this could mean I could lose the initial payment HSBC has offered and also it could take a considerable amount of time, so would prefer to avoid that route if I can

    Regards

    B
  • Hi I dont have an answer for you merely a question. I have just received from HSBC letter saying they will not uphold my claim for ppi on HSBC cc. Mainly due to the fact that we had it a long time and should have realised that ppi had been added a long time ago. Also that we should have read the small print on brochure given out with the CC, but why would we read about ppi if we had told them we did not want it? We also do not have the paperwork to hand and they say we have had the CC since 1987!!
Anyway my question to you is, How and what did you write or send to get an offer.
    Thanks

Bohdi007 had his complaint upheld, yours was rejected. What he wrote is irrelevant to you because each complaint is considered on it's own merits.
You would have received a booklet about how to refer your complaint to the Ombudsman in your "full and final" response from HSBC.

  • Yes sorry about that. Just very confused by it all. Thursday got a letter from HSBC please complete these forms and send back so we can deal with your claim fairly and investigate fully. Then the next day a letter to say they have investigated our claim fully and this is their final decision which is not to uphold the claim. But if we have anything further that we think would be new to the claim please send it to them. Confused.!!
  • Thanks to all of you, because reading all your comments has given me more energy to go on and fight the HSBC Bank in Court.
I took them to Court because I never had a copy of anything i never signed any Insurance Contract, after 2 years I was sent a copy of the Loan contract and my sigtnature has been Copy&Paste in all pages!!! I never signed those pages,
on the pre trial where the HSBC asked the Claim to be struck off, i was told by the Judge :"you do not need an insurance Contyract, You do not need a Insurance Certificate, You do not need a policy number!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I was there, without words, but the Judge did not write down those words. The HSBC offer me to pay a ridicolus amount for the PPI and Court expensies. I said NOOOOOOOOOOO I want a trial and a JUDGE to put all that down in writing that I do not need all that!!! on top for the last few months the harrassement by the HSBC, they put me on bad Credit because I refuswed to pay the PPI money!!!!! They saidthey were taking away a 8% TAXABLE interest on the PPI, now I am in a terrible BAD credit situation , i lost my Business. They blocked my Credit Card , they have done everything.
the Judje on the pre trial said the HSBC do not need to give me copy of the Loan Agreement. I asked to see copy of the original Loan agreement!! No the judje said I have no right, but he did not write that down anywhere. I wrote that the Claim is FOR PUBLIC INTEREST not only for me.. all this is nothing ... thank you for all your writing,
your stories it gives me energy to go on and fight!!!!!
