Aimless

My pressies are wrapped, I've even added a couple of post it instructions in case I go pop on Xmas Eve! Poor lanky teen would be fed up enough if I wasn't home, least I can do is leave the presents!

I get really paranoid about movements, in the end I bought a cheap notebook and note down some of them when I'm not busy. When I start stressing, I usually find the last one wasn't as long ago as it feels. I do sometimes do things I know provoke activity, like favourite noises.

38 week appointment today, still 4/5, and measuring normal, so no real change. Where is this baby hiding its size?! Made my next appointment when I'll be something like 40+4 or 5, apparently then we discuss sweeps, but I have to go to them when I'm 41 weeks, or wait till usual appointment day when I'll be nearly 42.

Just got back from our pre Christmas shop, im very sore and tired, but I've nothing left to do until Xmas day!

Hoping all the boldies are doing ok, and I'm hoping my PGP will resolve after birth as Lirin's has!

Anyway, Tesco's have the Medela swing for £45, half price from £90, so I've just got mine. I'm starting to feel a bit more organised, just the car seat and mattress to go, but I know which ones I'm getting, I'm just waiting for pay day.

Question, I've started to think my waters will go while I'm in bed, and I don't want to soil my relatively new mattress, what's going to be the best way to protect it?
For the car, I was thinking a towel and some bin bags?

Hi ladies

Quick update.

Cora Rose was born 22/12/11 at 1634. Weighing in at 8lbs.

Was very quick. Laboured at home from 6.30am til 1pm. Went to hospital and was 6cm when checked at 2.30pm. Waters broke during the internal. Had demanded pethadine at 3pm when I really felt i couldn't go on and told the midwife I needed the loo first. She checked again and I was ready to push!

No time for pain relief. Gas and air made me feel too sick. Only just had time for them to get my IV antibiotics through!!

Was strapped to bed throughout with monitor as there was merconium in the waters which was a blow as I struggled terribly with back pain in that position.

Was threatened with a ventouse at 1620 when I was really struggling to get the pushing right but after hubby said he could see her ears I gave it a damn good effort and she slid right out!

Had minor grazes to sides which required stiches to stop the bleeding but nothing serious.

Cora is absolutely gorgeous and I'm in love big time!!

Baby doctor said Cora is ok and providing all obs overnight go well we can leave in 12hrs.

Carmilla. Boots and Tesco sell maternity bed mats. They're plastic backed with an absorbent pad on top. I bought some when I had my DD and have more this time. I had 2 covering the bed, one on my car seat and one on the sofa lol. I think a pack of 5 is £3 at Tescos x
