Congratulations Seafarers_wife! Sorry to hear it didn't quite go to plan but I hope you are recovering nicely now that you are home.

I've had *such* a long day in town! After OH picked me up from Mothercare, we went into town and I spent even more money... But I now have the last few Christmas presents I needed to get and we went to the cinema (probably for the last time for the next five years!)

My gym ball arrived this morning so I have just pumped that up... Although the instructions say to pump it up, leave it 24 hours then pump it up a bit more before you start using it, so am going to do that...

Apart from that, I'm ready to hit the sofa! Walking around town today really tired me out so am off to veg...

Just a quick update, baby Benjamin born on 13th at 2342 hours weighing in at 8lbs 9ozs. born after emergency c section due to failure to progress.

induction started off fine on the monday afternoon, was 1 - 2 cm that evening and was 4cm when checked tuesday morning. so put on hormone drip to speed things up and contractions started working which is good :) pain was bad though as he was back to back so got an epidural which was a god send.

checked repeatedly through the day and still no progress so consultant decided at back of 10 that night that im going in for a section. he did offer to let me continue trying naturally but with 12 hours of no progress he didnt think i would deliver naturally. so hormone drip turned off and contractions stopped

the midwives were great when i was in labour but after i had Ben and had been xfered to a delivery ward they were useless. I struggled to get him to latch on and was made to feel a pest asking for things, ended up coming home on thursday night after having a meltdown due to various issues (failure to give painkillers, refusal to provide formula as he wouldnt feed for more than 5 mins at a time, help buzzer ignored for long periods of time, Ben being jaundiced and not having being checked over to see if it was an issue etc) so it took me asking the head midwife and laying out the issues and that got things moving and the docs agreed i could go home that night.

Ben is doing well and still having issues with latching on so we have made the decision to top up with formula for now until my milk comes in. have managed to express 2ozs this pm so that will be his next bottle feed later this pm.

Congratulations Seafarer's Wife! Benjamin is a lovely name.
Sorry you had a hard go of it with the labour and hopeless staff. Nice you are back home now, fingers crossed it all gets a bit smoother for you here on in!

  • well today has been a productive day, we have been struggling with money recently and im craving nothing more than a curry and a dirty kebab pmsl.

so today on the os board i found the perfect tikka masala recipe....a copycat of whats at our indian restaurante and my OH said he has fallen in love with me all over again lol yey me cant belive i got it spot on.

Tomorrow i am attampting a lamb doner kebab, from which ive seen consists of lamb mince from tesco mixed herbs and garlic etc mushed together and moulded into like a loaf shape and carved.....looks so easy im going to give it a go, naan bread left over from tonights gorgeous curry will be used for the kebabs and served with salad and mint yoghurt im so looking forward to tomorrow now lol im droooooooooooooooling.

Thought id not make a roast tomorrow as we will be stuffing our face with turkey next week lol.

The picture of the cat made me chuckle....eversince i fell pregnant my cat has not left my side and has slept on me like that too lol

    Congratulations seafarers_wife!!!!!!!!!!!!

Pip isn't keen on the laptop either, but doesn't mind the cat or hands... I think s/he's having a quiet day today, me walking around town all day has probably made them sleep. Am getting the odd nudge now and again though. We had a proper mental moment yesterday, it went on for about 15-20 mins, constant hard knobbly bits appearing and disappearing, I could feel it stretching out both sides into my ribs, head in my bladder... It just went on and on! :D
