  • Hi everybody

I am 12 weeks pregnant today and have had serious nausea and sickness almost every day. Sometimes two times a day. I've tried breadsticks and crackers which worked the first couple of days but have no effect now.

Does anyone have any other tips.

This is my first baby but i am finding it really rough.

Ginger biscuits and fruity boiled sweets helped me. Also midwife recoomended crunchy green apples which I wish I had known about in the early days.
Congrats and welcome by the way:)

No leaks here either, I don't think I did have last time, but I sure made up for it once breastfeeding, so I wouldn't worry. :D

Don't know if anyone can answer this, but how overdue do they let you get these days, particularly if they predict a decent sized baby (9 pounds or more at term). My other half has just been offered a night's (well paid!) work in Germany, 17 days after my due date. Well, he'd have to leave maybe 15-16 days after with the travelling time. Would you say it is safe to assume he won't miss the birth, even if he had to go a day or two after? (Worst case scenario). I only went 6 days late last time, so I'm assuming it'll all be well over, but who knows! :D

I had a little bit of sticky in the very centre of my nipples for a few days at around 16 weeks. Since then I have had dry and occasionally flaking nipples but no leaking. I'm starting to wonder if my milk will work when the time is right. 30/40.

  • Aimless - I'm over my date and being induced at 11 days over, so I'd think its safe to say that he won't miss it.

Thanks, I'll tell him that :) Worst comes to the worst, he'd end up going in paternity leave and owing me the two days he would've had off as normal leave, I think?

  • hiya. I've been a bit of a long time lurker on here but thought i'd post to answer a question. I am 16+1 with my 2nd baby so due on 8th May. I have a DD who is 10 months.

Regarding sickness, i had really bad nausea and vomiting with my first (till 20 weeks) and i found that i had to eat plain food little and often. I couldn't let myself get really hungry or eat a big meal or i'd be sick. I found that chocolate, fizzy juice, sweets and chinese/indian takeaway made me sick instantly so had to cut all that out. With this pregnancy, i am still sick ect but not nearly as severe but i do find plain stuff and the little and often helps. i will be sick if i eat choc ect sometimes but it's not nearly as restricting. Having said all that, everyone is different! My mate also had bad sickness and found she craved pepsi cola!

I bought one maternity bra (fitted) and two more (one maternity/one nursing) on ebay, I've hated every one of them, and took the shop one back after retrying it at home. It might just be my shape, but I found everything fell to the middle of them and there wasn't enough cup definition to keep them separate. I'd suggest trying them first if possible?

Oh, seem to remember despite being the right size, they were uncomfortable around the band after a little while too.
