    Hello All,

Just a quick update. Mrs AB was due last Tuesday, but a new little one decided she was comfortable where she was for a couple of extra days and made her grand entrance yesterday at 11.50. We've called her Olivia Eve and she weighed in at 9lb 15.5oz

Waters broke at 1am, at hospital for 2am, sat around in reception for THREE hours (!?!), I was sent home around 6am and Mrs AB taken to the ward. I had a call at just before 11am, arrived at 11.30 and Liv arrived 20 minutes later. Hospital were more than happy with everything, so we all left at 6 last night.

So, our first Isabelle who turned 17 months is now a big sister. We are all very happy at AB Towers :D

    Oooh goodluck missymoo!!

    congrats Mr & Mrs AB.

I now understand why those of you who've had physio for SPD have been told not to hoover......just done mine and now I ache lots!! I don't know if I actually have SPD but I have been suffering with really achy hips/pelvis and pains at the back that feel very much like the start of sciatica.

Oooh good luck Missymoo, had a feeling this would happen when you said you could feel pressure in your bum :p Hope it happens quick and as painless as possible for you.

Well finally the ironing I've been avoiding for about a week is done, 2 hours it took, and 2 hours of standing meant I had to go to the loo about 6 times. Standing up clearly isn't good for my bladder.

Got OH packed off to work so I'm planning to relax for the rest of the day, I think I deserve it, toying with the idea of going to Tesco for some pancakes, been craving them since last night, how odd.

Lirin  MY GOD. You must have loads of fluid surrounding the baby, especially if the midwife thinks he/she is only about 5 and a half lbs

Wonder Womble Thanks, put my mind at ease a little bit, I actually prefer sleeping on my left anyway, because I like to face "out" in bed, plus last night while lying on my right OH was snoring right in my face, so I turned him round and he just rolls back over

I spend my time 50:50 on left and right side too, as my hips get too achy on one side for too long. Plus if you start using a thin cushion/pillow between your legs, then it helps with maintaining the blood flow, so the difference between left and right becomes less as well.

Yeah I tried the pillow thing last night and it seemed to help the aching legs too. Being pregnant isn't fun, I used to enjoy sleep! :o

crikey this labour lark is boring!! Well to be fair I suppose I'm not officially in labour, no contractions at all, just bad period type pains, baby is very quiet which I don't really like. Just seem to be waiting around until either my contractions start or I have to ring the hospital at 8ish tonight! Don't really want to tell the family yet as I will be inundated with texts and nothing is really happening, so we're just sitting tight, OH is watching the Grand Prix, I have just cleaned all of downstairs, in the hope it might bring on contractions, going to go to tesco in a bit, its only around the corner to get some snacks for the hospital! Very strange, thought when my waters broke it would be full steam ahead but evidently not!

The M/W at our class said to remember its a marathon not a race, and early labour can take a looooog time, so try not to rush around doing too much as it confuses the body into thinking its not safe to start labour, and can delay things happening. She advised taking as much rest as poss, napping when you can, eat light snacks and plenty of fluids, so that you are storing your energy for later when the hard work starts! If you can spend time in a cosy, dimly lit room, relaxing, then your body is more likely to tune into the labour signs and let things progress..:)

Keep us updated hon! Thinking of you!

P.s Early contractions apparently do feel rather like period pains! You can take paracetamol and use hot water bottles to help.
