old hand at this so forgive me for butting in cos i am not only a mum but a nanna now but i wouldnt be worrying about sheets for prams and moses baskets - i used pillowcases and just tucked them in round the sides - and i covered the top half of them with a terry nappy for any spillages - used to take the terry nappy off every day or after every spillage to wash and was the pillowcase every 2 days or more if needed the pillow cases dried very quickly as well - hope this helps it worked for me and my dd1 xx good luck with all of your pregnancies and deliveries xxolympic challenge starting 7/1/07:j0

Lirin you have a lovely bump:)
That has been one of my concern with baby due at the end of December is the snow. My road doesn't get gritted but we arn't far from the main road but last year the grit wasn't great the snow and ice just fell on top. We should hopefully be ok, we live about 20mins from the hospital. Also our driveway is on a slight slope and last year OH had trouble getting out and was sliidng everwhere and nealy went into my car.So i think i willl get him to park on the front so we are on flat ground!!0 -
I went to see the anaesthetist today. All fine but just went over any complications that could occur. Spinal block should be fine though as I was ok with an epidural. Problem was coming back out. I had to park away from the hospital in the A&E carpark (Skint_Catt will be able to picture this!) as I couldn't park in the main carpark. Waddled my way back after my appointment only to find that the carpark ticket machine only accepted coins and I only had a £10 note! So waddled all the way back upto the hospital in the rain and all carpark machines were the same!! So had to go to the shop to get some change then finally waddle back up to the A&E carpark to escape! Didn't do my SPD any good whatsoever
Was that just today or do they not take notes at all anymore??? I've put tenners in my hospital bag for OH's parking fee's! Crap.
I hate walking anywhere these days as it just hurts too much...

Not sure hun. You could always get change from the shop but you would have to buy something! The ladies in there were not happy as everyone was doing the same as me and they were running out of change. Can you picture me going up and down from the top of the A&E carpark to the hospital in the rain?!! Was not happy!!Thank you to everyone for sharing competitions!0 -
cor you lot are chatty today, i left at 9am this morning and that was about 8 pages ago.Skint_Catt wrote: »Tesco were selling 1Kg bags of salt for 18p each the other day so I bought several (easy to keep a bag or two in the car too in case you get stuck) - will buy more if I see it again!

carefull tho, we did this last year and it melts the snow but turns into an ice rink about half an hr after, if you can try and get some sand (builders sand is like a pound a bag) and mix it, it will help with grip.Skint_Catt wrote: »Holy carp! aye thats what i did with my last daughter, they fit better and are so much cheaper, also you always have spare pillowcases lying around.
i have been painting all day and we are nowere near done, we wont get back to the new house this week because tomorow is last minute shopping then thursday is my tan (altho she wont be happy because i still have the last remaining rain forest on earth down there) and a meal out plus oh is going to derby to collect his son and we have 20 guests arriving from scotland, london and portsmouth so its going to be busy. friday is the wedding, saturday isnt going to happen and sunday is runing round the country taking people home... then next weekend were suposed to be going back to scotland so i dont know when we are going to get back in there. oh my god i have no cake ahhhhhh
*looks for an emergency wedding cake online*0 -
I bet! Poor you - why does no hospital have decent bloody parking - especially when they're so far out of town! At least it wasn't a wasted trip - you got some info.
Just realised I've bought 100 RLT teabags. 10 a day - will that help shift Giblet? lol

Just hope you don't have to go in in labour during late morning or the afternoon - you won't park! It was gridlocked around the main carpark with loads of us trying to get a spaceThank you to everyone for sharing competitions!0 -
Lovely bump pic Lirin. Loving the wedding pics too everyone.
Love seeing pics cos I build up mental images of other posters lol.
Had a wander to waterstones earlier and bought DD a new book.
It's called 'there's a house in mummy's tummy' and it's about mummies having another baby. Thought it would be nice to read it together and it should stop her worrying as it explains cravings and morning sickness in a way she'll understand. It's quite funny too.
This bit made me laugh:
"i just can't wait to meet him,
I hope that he's alright.
My daddy says be patient,
As his door is rather tight" :rotfl:
And I for one am really hoping there won't be a repeat of the snow from last year, we were stuck in for a week, not sure I'll cope if it happens in final weeks of pregnancy this year. X0 -
