Blue_Monkey wrote: »Hi ladies, happy halloween!
So I went mental at OH yesterday after the no text thing. I did a lot of crying and he looked mortified. He really is a good one generally and I almost felt bad that he looked so sad. I told him I was broken, that moving back from Oz and being the one to sort everything has really taken it's toll on me. All is fine now, I think he "gets it" finally.
I also decided to bring my mat leave forward meaning instead of finishing on the 24th Nov, I'd finish on the 15th. Told boss today and she is not happy..... Her stupid fault for not sorting out my mat cover or replacing the girl who left today. Our other colleague is currently signed off sick so rather than winding down, I'm now doing 3 people's jobs!! Problem is because I've got annual leave to use before mat leave officially starts I think she's reluctant to approve it and is now going to be her usual difficult self.....
Anyway need some din-dins. Hope you're all good, BMx
Tough luck - If you want to leave on mat leave earlier then there is nothing they can do - and if its the same policy as my company you have to take holiday before hand. I brought my mat leave forward by 1 week - I have 6 weeks left at work and 9 weeks until im due. THey have only just advertised my job which is up on the board for 2 weeks - then interviews etc and then the new person will start. Busiest time of year for us and the new person wont be trained much at all but its not my problem!
I had to have 2 weeks off due to dislodging my sacroilliac joint (worst pain I have ever experienced!) that was around 7 weeks ago. I had the companies healthcare people call me to discuss how I was and sent on reccomendations to my boss for having physio. THat was 7 weeks ago and on Friday he finally spoke to me about it and told me the company could not justify sending me to physio as I only had 6 weeks left at work......thanks a lot, its fine I will just sit in pain for the next 6 weeks and struggle! I did have some private physio but at £35 a session and needing to go 1-2 times a week I simply could not afford it any more. Was reffered to hospital from midwife but that was pretty useless - they gave me some exercises and barely physically looked at my back.
Luckilly I have been doing the exercises, the yoga and generally being so so careful and it seems to have helped - but annoys me that it has taken them so long to tell me they wont send me to physio, and even more annoying that I know people have been sent for physio for other issues and they were obviously taking the p***.

Oh just read back and read about boatgirl getting induced, good luck hun I'm sure it'll all be fine!
Cloudberry it is always just such a worry, I just want him home!
Right from the research I have done I need to go to holland and barrett and get some arnica tablets to help with healing, I think I read you're supposed to take them 3 days before due date, also need lavender and tea tree essential oils for healing. I need to get clary sage which is another oldwives tale for bringing on labour to put in the bath. Still need to get witch hazel and lilypadz. Am currently on 3 big mugs of RLT a day, with 2 teabags in each, so 6 a day, to be honest I don't actually think it has been doing anything, have been taking it for 2 weeks now and no increase in tightness or anything. ho hum.
Hi Missy! Glad all is well- was starting to get worried! You can get Arnica pillules from Boots homeopathic section as well. I've bought the Natalia Labour massage oil, which has a number of essential oils suitable for labour in it, including Clary Sage, also bought the facial spray spritz. They arrived last week and even from a distance, they smell LUSH!:DMarried 13/03/10 #1 DD born 13/01/12!!

Well phoned to cancel delivery, just left the house to walk to chippy, and it arrives, trying to explain you cancelled to someone who doesn't speak english, isn't easy. Got food from the chippy now though, and it's yummy! The frontier is never somewhere else. And no stockades can keep the midnight out.0

IMO Arnica is always something you should keep in the medicine cabinet! If you ever have have things that need healing - wounds, burns, operations etc it will always help with the healing process - its just remembering about them at the time!:T baby boy born 01/01/2012 my New Years Day Boy

oooh thanks kira, will have a look on line in a sec
gilly that is so typical, glad you enjoyed your chippy tea though.
cloudberry I would never have thought of using it, mind you how accident prone and clumsy I am you would have thought I would have invested in some by now.
Im just sitting here and suddenly my heart rate has gone up, does anyone else get this, makes me feel a bit odd, it goes away as soon as it comes along though.0 -

I was told by MW to get un-scented massage oil to use during labour - so that when baby arrives it can recognise your smell rather than any scented oils....not sure how important it is?
I bought some boots sensitive oil from the baby section http://www.boots.com/en/Boots-Baby-Sensitive-Oil-300ml_1108714/- my DH has been giving me massages with it and its great stuff!:T baby boy born 01/01/2012 my New Years Day Boy

DO NOT HAVE THE FLU JAB - I feel AWFUL. My arm's killing, i have a dodgy tummy and feel BLURGH lol
DD has upset me today - she keeps crying asking for her "daddy XX" (OH) and asking why he wont come and live with us "every day and not just at weekends" :-( I dont know what to tell her. She tells him on the phone, i think he thinks that i tell her to say these tings (I 110% dont!) :-(
Been to midwife - she said i have ketones (?) in my urine - baby brain made me tell OH i had ketamine in my system lol oops! Shes measured my stomach again - so far we have gone: Top growth line, middle growth line, bottom growth line and now . . . bak on top?! Midwife says to wait until my scan next week and "hopefully" it will return back to the middle line. I give in lol0 -

I did read not to use strong perfumes etc, for the reason you say. I did read though, that the massage oils are most helpful in early/mid stages so i figure that being that they are mainly going to be used down at the bottom of my back and my family doesnt have a history of short labour, they will have worn off well before beanie actually arrives!
Agree on Arnica BTW, it is great stuff! I have the pillules and an arnica cream, and in the past, have had a liquid form too!!Married 13/03/10 #1 DD born 13/01/12!!

Well this is it CB, exactly the same here. My boss has known about me for 5 months and knew about other colleague leaving at about the same time and she's done nothing. I apparently have to give 28 days notice to change my mat leave which I'm well within (changing from 11 dec to 1 dec), it's just the annual leave bit. Boss insisted that I take all my annual leave before ML, but it is possible to roll it over too, I just hope she's too stubborn to go back on that. Also wondering about getting signed off if she doesn't do approve my annual leave... I know if you're signed off for a pregnancy-related illness within the 4 weeks before your EDD your ML must start automatically. Not sure about non-preggo illness though...goes against all my ethics to get signed off willy-nilly but she's been such a cow I don't see why I should help her out by holding the fort. But even if I wasn't preggers, I reckon I may have ended up at the docs with stress anyway.
In other news, I just had to go downstairs and tell our oldi neighbors that our floors were shaking their music was so loud. He has turned it down but I can still hear every lyric.....0
