Sitting on your ball prior to labour can ease backache that you might get if slouched on the sofa.
Bouncing and rolling your hips around on the ball during labour can help to ease pain and keeps you upright to help gravity do its thing.:jProud mummy to a beautiful baby girl born 22/12/11 :j0 -
thanks sammy so theres no reason for me to bounce now? I wondered if it would help the baby move down as its not at all engaged.0

how far along are you?
Im not sure if bouncing will help or not. If it makes you feel more comfortable then i cant see any harm in it (unless you're trying to bounce it out!):jProud mummy to a beautiful baby girl born 22/12/11 :j0 -

No, not too early to use the ball- at this stage just sitting on the ball focusses the core muscles which will help during labour, and the sitting up straight that it encourages, along with the hip angle, encourages baby to move into a good position, and prevents your womb being lopsided, which can make your baby engage at a dodgy angle (not good). Plus once baby is in a good position, sitting on the ball helps prevent it shifting to a less good position!
Bouncing on the ball, and rolling the ball to swivle your hips can help progress labour, so better for the later stages of pregnancy to get things going!Married 13/03/10 #1 DD born 13/01/12!!

LOL. I tried making fudge yesterday, and was at the "dont stop stirring under any circumstances" stage, when cramps struck but i couldnt leave it to go to the loo. Had to clench like mad for 5 mins, then had to make an undignified urgent waddle with clenched buttocks to the loo. Just made it, but like you, coulda been nasty! One bout of bad tum is fine for baby. I had fairly frequent diahorrea for the first tri. As long as you dont get dehydrated and manage to get some nutrients in you, and dont have other symptoms you and bubs should be fine.Married 13/03/10 #1 DD born 13/01/12!!
