Karen- Hey, just think of it this way- you're just getting in prep for living to a nice, comfortable old age. I'm the same. One day, I'm 30, the next I feel 90.....
:rotfl:! It's pathetic isn't it. DH had to help me get dressed for bed last night then help me get into it! Seems a bit better this morning than it was last night but still not brilliant. Oh well, 8 days and counting :j!Thank you to everyone for sharing competitions!0 -
DH promises he'll take me to an all you can eat Teriyaki place on Saturday. That's a dangerous decision right now- I may have problems eating full meals, but I can put a goat to shame with my grazing ability!
I'm looking forward to it already, so you must be drooling right now over TGI's tonight, seafarers.
Similar situation- I live 2 miles from the hospital, so I haven't packed a lot, really, as anything can be gathered up quite fast if needs be. Both MIL and my mum have keys to my house, so that's handy!
Yup K, the romance dies when DH has had to help me take off clothing (Comes across a lot nicer in written format), then help swing my legs onto the sofa.... He's very soppy and caring, though, but sometimes it can feel a little over the top. I keep forgetting I'm very dismissive of pain- my Dad bought us up with 'Unless it hurts or is serious, just ignore it and toughen up.' DH's family would be in hospital with a broken finger, whereas I've shrugged and splinted it after I've eaten an ice-lolly!0 -
After my pre-op next Wednesday we are going out for a family lunch to the Harvester nom, nom, nom!Thank you to everyone for sharing competitions!0

Well, spent my first night on the sofa since PG. Was knackered last night, so was DH as we both have the same cold lurg. Persuaded DH to come to bed early at 9.30 (unheard of for him), and he went out like a light. Problem was, with the stuffy nose, the snoring started immediately, and i had horrible indigestion so just couldnt drop off to sleep. Gave up after 45mins, and decamped to the sofa. Wasnt a brilliant nights sleep but had alot more than i would have in bed. Plus our big elvis cat (all 5.5kg of him!) was taking the opportunity to get some mummy cuddles which he doesnt have when i'm upstairs in bed.
I started packing up my 2 hospital bags at the weekend- am 30 weeks tomorrow. We will have a bit of a drive, so figured, best be prepared! Just missing one or two bits like a lightweight dressing gown, and will be sorted. I do prefer to be organised well in advance. Lateness and feeling unprepared are my biggest nightmare scenarios! I've told DH he is in charge of making a third bag, with camera, Ipod speaker, carton drinks, snacks, glucose sweets, car park change and spare tshirt for him. I know i'll have to keep checking he has done it, but still gives him something to do!Married 13/03/10 #1 DD born 13/01/12!!

I used Ginvtz's code to get the boots points - hope that it worked! If 3 people click the link then you get it for free
You spend the £5 to get the voucher which gets emailed to you tomorrow morning, then you have to go to Boots's Treat Street website and buy something - cheapest thing so far is an itunes single for 79p. This then activates the 1500 points after 35 days - so you spend £5.79 to get the £15 worth of points on your advantage card. HTH if anyone was not sure about the deal
Oh and heres my link
https://livingsocial.com/deals/143401?ref=conf-jp&rpi=32481811
Just make sure you only buy 1 as it will only load the points onto your card once for 1500 points.:T baby boy born 01/01/2012 my New Years Day Boy

Oh, quick question re:hospital bag contents. I've currently packed 2 proper swaddle wraps in my baby bags. Is this a daft idea? Should i just leave them out? I've heard it can really help soothe little ones, and am going to give it a try at home, but didnt know if it was worth taking them with me too.Married 13/03/10 #1 DD born 13/01/12!!

Hello my lovelies, well, I am back from the midwife and..... apparantly the baby has turned!!!!!! Think it did it last night and there was a lot of wiggling and after scrubbing the kitchen floor on my hands and knees for an hour it wouldn't suprise me, although the wiggles I get are strange, so I'm not convinced. Am measuring 2cm bigger than I should be though, she said they don't worry until its atleast 3, but I am worried. I've now got to think about the birth!!! I was just not thinking about it as it seemed pointless when I thought I was having a c section but now I have to think about the birth and maybe having a big baby arrrrrrgggghhhh, think I need to repack my hospital bag.... the tiny baby stuff is coming out and the 0-3 is going in!!!!0

morning all, congrats on the new babies.
Can't believe how quick this month is going, am now 3rd after the boldies!
With regard to packing the bag for hospital, I have packed 2 bags ones for labour and first hour or so with baby. Second bag will stay in the car and can be got when needed as space is apparently at a premium. That will have multiples of clothes, nappies and any extras we might need just in case.
It's official I am now redundant, bit of a relief really, was already starting to worry about going back to work next year. This way I can take my time and find a much more family friendly part time job. For anyone else who finds themselves in this position, as I am officially on mat leave already when I become redundant then I get redundancy pay plus the SMP plus the additional mat pay as if I was going back to work so has worked out rather well. This maybe because it is local gov but have it all in writing so should happen. Also I was quite surprised but basically I should get everything as a lump sum at beg of Dec, will just need to be sensible what with Christmas coming up! Will be weird not being employed though, will be the first time since I was 13.0 -
Boat girl that is great news. It may be worth checking out the up your income board while you are on mat leave u could make a few quid writing reviews or something and pop it in a pot for when you mat leave all ends. There is a great thread for make £10 a day!
I am hoping not to go back to work so figure if i can make £10 a day ish between now and when i am due back then i could afford to stay home so if i can make £300 extra a month for the next 10 months i will have 3K which will mean i can stay home loads longer! i dont think i will be able to make that much though! any extra helps
i am really hoping that i am made redundant while i am on mat leave! but i dont think it will happen. i have left it with work that i will be back but i dont want to go back:j Proud mum to Jade age 10 years and Baby Ellie born Christmas Day:eek: with a broke heartProven to be a little fighter and battling on with her heart condition :j

Congrats to the new Mummies
Glad the baby's turned for you Missymoo!
I'm feeling really bouncy today, after going to my first ever Jive class last night! Wow, that was fabulous, I feel like it's loosened up stiff bits of legs and hips, and everyone was so friendly. I'm feeling awake despite going to bed at 11 and still waking up at 6.30 this morning, I can't seem to sleep beyond that no matter what time I get to bed! I was a bit worried about how I'd manage, so we didn't stay for the whole freestyle session, just did the class and about another half hour of dancing before going home. Hopefully I'll be fit enough to keep going for quite a few more weeks yet, though it'll probably get more challenging as the bump gets bigger - have to start dancing further away from people!0
