Your letting agent sounds like a nightmare Gilly! They're supposed to give you 24 hours notice of anyone coming round. Whether it's someone from the agency or a repairman or anybody! And they shouldn't be letting themselves in without your permission!

I lived in a flat with a terrible damp/mould problem for a bit, we were literally only there for about four months as the landlord was rubbish. We ended up going to CAB to get advice as the place was in a right state. We ended up sacrificing our deposit as we broke the contract but we just wanted to get out of there.

I would keep on at them. If they say they'll just paint over it etc, just keep telling them it's not good enough. It's not good for your health or for a baby!

Oh Kira I agree, on viewing this place we asked if the LL would store furniture for us so we could bring in our own, was told yes, that's possible, we move in, "no we can't do that, the LL has no means of storing" I love our flat otherwise, it's small enough and cosy at the moment for what we need it for, it has all modern appliances and most things are brand new. So close to town too, so when bubs comes I can walk in and back, without it being a major walk, but it's still a bit of exercise. Also don't be daft you've been great, I take everyones comments and help on board, it's the first time I've moved out and had to deal with all this stuff so it's a bit alien to me :o

On another note if anyone is planning on buying a moses basket and hasn't yet M&P have some great in the sale, a few are even half price.

Making me want one now! :(

I'm not too bad today. Nice boss is a bit grumpy today, and asked why I have had so many appointments with midwife/consult/haematologist/physio. Didn't think I had? I'm shared care, so I see mw every 2 months, and consultant every other 2 months. I've seen haematologist twice, and physio is coming up. He said his wife has been seen five times in total, and she's 3 weeks ahead of me. I've had 13 appointments in total, including the three coming up!
Must be the difference in care/area, as my sisters seemed to think I had very few appointments.

Crikey, he would die of shock then if he was my boss, I have an appointment at least every 2 weeks, every woman and every pregnancy is different and they cannot be compared.

Anyone know how long a Physio app lasts, on average? Mine is right in the middle of the day, my boss was asking. He's trying to work out whether I'll be back after. Physio dept not open today, so I can't ring.

I suppose it depends on how long you have to wait, my first was about 40 - 50 minutes plus waiting time.
    WW/Kira - what's the deal with RLT? What's it for/do? I could google I suppose...

WW - get well soon, there seems to be a lot of nasties going round at the mo.

Can't remember if I told you on here, but I'm still hot and cold at the thought of our wedding next year - mainly due to price. I just want to be married, never been fussed about having a princess-day and hate being the centre of attention, and our provisional estimate on costs looks like it'll be about £15k. This seems ridic when we're looking to buy a house and I'll be on mat pay... I just want my lovely OH to be my lovely HB, don't really care about the wedding itself. If we can find a nice house to buy, I think we'll just have a garden party instead.................

We did our day for about £5k, there are loads of things you can cut back on that are completely uneccessary. We got married at our local lighthouse (1st people to get married there and we convinced the manager to apply for a license), we had to hire chairs and decorate the room ourselves, paid for minibuses for all the guests, had an afternoon reception with free bar and buffet, evening reception with buffet, we had 2 wedding cakes and 2 photographers. Things I cut back on were flowers, my dress was off the peg from Debenhams, we supplied all the bottles of champagne for our afternoon reception and paid only corkage, and spent ur wedding night in our campervan in a pub car park with a load of mates (in their vans not ours!!) Make your day personal to you. We don't really do tradition and I love lighthouses, hence getting married there. Our evening reception was at a lovely beach bar and I had a sandcastle for my wedding cake. I made my own table centre pieces from a citronella candle in a bucket. I covered the candle wax with pebbles, bought little beach windmills and stuck them in the wax. I made my own invites, I just bought nice cards with a pastel painting on of the lighthouse where we got hitched and then printed my own inserts. The evening invites I ordered from the internet and got pre printed cards with a beach scene on the front. My 2 nieces were bridesmaids and I bought there dresses from a catalogue. I had seen some beautiful Jasper Conran ones but they were pricey and were white and I wanted them in colour. In a catalogue I spotted identical dresses in lilac, they looked fab and were half the price. Only I had a boquet, for my bridesmaids the florist wanted £50 each for a tiny posy. I bought them a fabric bag from Debenhams and filled it with confetti to keep them amused. As you can tell I could rattle on about our wedding all day long. It was perfect for us :D

RLT does something to shorten labour, although there is little research to prove this a couple of midwives have suggested taking it to me.

We got the Gulliver changing table from Ikea, it's fab and really sturdy!

Congrats on V Day Gilly :j

I think it was Kira asking about palpitations, and I have them at the mo. I'm putting them down to the horrid cold I have :(

Congrats on the all clear from the GTT results Kira :j

Missy moo I've been wearing bras for bed since I found out I was pg as I am paranoid about having saggy bo obs. It is most uncomfortable :( I have the occasional night off and then wake up in a panic that they will end up down my knees

Mimi, I have to get OH to maintain things down below, fortunately my hair growth seems to have slowed right down. I haven't shaved my legs for 2 weeks, when usually it is needed every 2-3 days. I hope it lasts post pregnancy :rotfl:

Oh Mimi, that story about Dr Lush is the best :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:

Water births, I think a bikini or tankini top is recommended as they won't get in midwife's way as they are monitoring you. If OH wants to go in with you he has to wear trunks :D

Cloudberry our garden appears to the toilet for a few of the local cats and nothing we have tried has helped :( I had the same problem in my old house and one cat used to come in and crap in my house if I opened my downstairs windows  One day I caught it crapping on my bed :mad::mad: If you know anyone with a dog, ask them to pay a visit and let the dog loose in your garden every few weeks as that seems to work for a short period of time as they must leave doggy scent. We got a supersoaker which is great fun, but we are rarely quick enough to get a hit. Failing that we keep a bucket of water next to the back door (not practical once we have crawling baby, but it provides me with much amusement watching OH run after that cats with it :D) Apologies to cat lovers out there, but they are the bane of my life :(

Gilly I would be making a complaint about the bloke just walking into your flat, landlord or not he does not have the right. Sorry to hear about your damp, but have no advice other than to keep the rooms ventilated, even just the windows on half latch is enough.

Well my cold has come out in force and I feel like poo (more poo talk!) I lay on the sofa and dozed frm getting home at 4.30pm. OH put me to bed at 7pm, but now I'm up and wide awake. Baby is lively and has got me giggling watching my tummy move, this has got to be THE BEST THING about being pg :D:D:D OH has spent all night catering to my every need, he is lovely ;)
  • Talking of pruning your lady garden - I use Nair/Immac (whatever it's called these days). I use a really small g-string for guidelines and sometimes get OH to put it on. Sit there for 10 mins playing on my phone then wipe it all away and usually looks pretty neat.... Only problem is where I've got a bit bigger the tops of my legs rub together more than usual and I guess the added, ahem, moisture down there means I sometimes chaff a little. Hurts like a b**tard if you get Nair on the chaffed bits, but a bit of 8-hour cream usually sorts that.

    Lol @ "lady garden"

I can't imagine anything worse than asking someone to go down there to prune it!

Has anyone used the lilypadz things, would really like to know if they work before I splash out on a pair.

I used them and they worked really well for me, a bit strange to start with but you get used to them.

Wow, mammoth post of the day award goes to Wonder Womble! :D

Totally agree about the moving tummy being the best thing about being pregnant! Have been feeling a bit miserable today for various reasons, but lying on the sofa tonight watching my baby wriggle about in my tummy has really helped cheer me up! Can't wait to meet my little Pip! :D
