Afternoon all. Sooooo glad I don't have the problem with boobies leaking as I never get any milk in at all.

Been to midwife - all fine. Went to a Boots on the retail park on the way home for more Huggies boxes. Huggies pure wipes are on offer for £1 at the moment so I used 2 vouchers for those. So 2 Huggies boxes and 2 packs of wipes cost me £1!! Yey!! Anybody want my Euro vouchers otherwise they will just go into recycling? xx

Still in shock I actually got to V day, if anyone had said that 6 weeks ago when I had the bleed i would have laughed/cried! Lil missy kicking away happily this afternoon on/off, so i've actually for once laid back and enjoyed the feeling and chilled, I was def stressed before and I'm having a girl, but the stress was down to Ivf meds and worry it would fail again, I never once believed as I had a frozen Ivf (lil missy is a frozen embryo from 2009) I would actually fall pregnant, it was purely an exercise of use up the frozen so we can the go for another fresh attempt, still shocked lol after all these years and many thousands of pounds later it worked.

Hope everyone ok or as well as can be xx

Hello all! 2 months in to parenthood and I've had a chance to write a birth story for you :)

Ladies, I really didn't enjoy pregnancy but can assure you that it's 100% worth it. I wasn't particularly maternal beforehand and you don't have to go all gooey over babies to be a good mother and love your child unconditionally once it's here. :heartpuls :heartpuls :heartpuls

Indigestion is SO annoying.. Today i have OBVIOUSLY been a greedy piggy today, what with the grand total consumption of my small bowl of fruit salad, and two pieces of granary toast with honey. So why does it feel like i have eaten a 10 course meal?

*sigh* i really cant wait for beanie to arrive so that i can enjoy a proper meal again! Spag Bol. Phad Thai. Roast beef with trimmings.. drool..

how are things with you and your babies dad now mimi?

still not "right" - On my "brave" days i tell him to shove off, on my "oh my god I need him" days i want him back lol

Technically - we're both single, but not seeing anyone else, and he comes over at the weekend (confused? good - so am i lol)

He says that im trying too hard, too much and too fast. He isnt moving home, said he will be here when babys due and then will go back to his after (thanks for that!)

I think - in all honesty - if i back off he will come back and we could sort it - but you try telling a hormonal lady whose 30 weeks pregnant to back off lol It isnt easy! I need to stop bugging him but its difficult - He's someone ive been in contact with for 10 years - to suddenly tell me not to contact him is like a red rag to a bull IYKWIM

Never mind! I've been a single mum before with DD1 - and she's amazing at the moment, shes helping me out ALOT by doing just silly things like tidying up after herself, making her bed in the morning, she even asks to wash the pots (LOL :rotfl:) and always seems to know when i need a cuddle - I quite enjoy it when its just "us" - Do worry im ageing her before her time though! She says she cant wait until the babys here because shes going to change its nappy etc lol
Mimi - I know how you feel about money :( It's one thing after another with us at the mo, what with the move... And OH's just found out that he will only be paid 30 days after he invoices, when it used to be 7 days!! Gah. You've got me wondering about Christmas pressies now... I should perhaps get some as I imagine we'll have other things on our minds at that point in time!
Glad its not just me! I'm starting to rein in my spending now!

ooooh I have a question, now what is everyone going to wear to sleep in for BF. I usually sleep, naked but obviously I dont want to leak all over the place, I dont fancy wearing night time bras nor do I fancy wearing big old BF nighties..... Not sure what the best option is.

Sticky booby pads and this: http://www.mothercare.com/Maternity-Heart-Print-Strappy-Nightdress/dp/B005D71IKQ?ie=UTF8&ref=sr_1_11&nodeId=42797041&sr=1-11&qid=1318865307 (Please god let me look better in it that the model lol) It has clips to unhook so ya can erm . . whack em out :rotfl:

OK THIS IS GOING TO BE WAY TOO MUCH INFO . . . . Those of you who erm maintain . . .down there . . . how the hell are you doing it with bumps? I tried sitting on the side of the bath - and nearly flipping fell lol

Mother care have a good sale on atm btw

Also - (sorry lot of info going on here) Whats everyone doing about baby monitors - when i had DD1 i just brought a "normal" bog standard one (which picked up next doors signals and we could hear their convos lol) OH wants to buy one of those angelcare system doo dar things - im not impressed - what are you lot buying?

I've spent ages looking at reviews around the place. We've ended up going for the BT 150 which got the Which best best buy and great reviews. It is more or less discontinued now, so quite pricey, and the newer models dont get as good reviews. Our second choice was this one http://www.babysecurity.co.uk/products/3017/Philips-Avent-SCD525-Baby-Digital-Monitor.html which is now a which best buy as well and gets good feedback.

  • I have bought one of the lily padz - check them out - read a good review and it pursuaded me to buy one - might be good for you Gilly as you already have the milk in and could save money in the long run and is supposed to be the best in preventing leaks and wasting milk.

Mimi - We bought an expensive baby monitor - one of the ones with a video as I think as first time parents we thought it would help give us piece of mind as we will have no idea what were doing. My DH always says if we can afford the best why would we buy a cheap one lol - dont mind his logic most of the time. Also we want to buy an angelcare type monitor - one of the sensor pads. My mum would feel happier if I had one - when my brother was born he was extremely ill - very touch and go wether he would make it - my mum said if there was stuff like that on the market 29 years ago she may have actually slept for the 1st few months instead of staying up all night to make sure he was still breathing.

:rotfl: with great difficulty mimi, i have to sort of sit on the edge of the bath and lean either side and then just sort of guess the rest as cant see a thing, not the most comfortable of things!! :rotfl:

We've been given just a normal monitor, but am now wondering about the angelcare systems, so if anyone does have advice that'd be great, how much are they?

i like the nightie mimi but I cant wear anything long, i get so hot and bothered.
