WW, thanks, that makes sense....
Just keep cramping my leg now- this is annoying!
How are you? You're up early as well, are you ok?0 -
Ahhhh sorry you're not sleeping well ladies, but it's also kind of reassuring to come on here and see other people awake!! I've been struggling to sleep since about 3:30am and have been goggling baby clothes. I've managed to get a bit confused with what a newborn wears - long/short/no sleeved vest plus sleepsuit/bodysuit? Feeling like it's all a bit of a minefield!!
We got the keys to our new flat last night and started to pick up the crap our parents were storing for us, I reckon most if it is going straight to the charity shops!!
I also got a pressie from my colleagues in Singapore - a memory/first year book and.... wait for it.... a baby cry analyzer!!!! Says on the box it's 90% accurate in saying whether a baby is crying because it's hungry, bored, stressed, tired or something else (can't remember the last category). OH and I found it rather hilarious, but I'm also intrigued to see it in action!
Right going to try and snooze some more as have a busy day ahead moving... I'm the van driver!0 -
How exciting to finally be moving into your own place BM :j Hope the move goes well. It is amazing how much rubbish and junk that you accumulate. When we moved last year I had a huge clear out of stuff, then have had another one to make room in this house for baby arriving.
From observing my nieces I believe babies wear a short sleeved vest, with a long sleeved sleep suit in winter, topped with a cardigan if need be. I read some where that however many layers you are wearing, the baby should have 1 more than you. Also check their temperature by feeling the back of the neck or the tummy as hands and feet are often cooler than the body.
Lirin I'm fine, just the past 4 days I've been awake from 3amThat seems to be when baby wakes up. It will be interesting when he/she is born to see if that is his/her sleep pattern as he/she is lively at about 10pm, then 3am, then again at 7am, and I am always hungry at those times :rotfl:
I've got a day of housework planned - oh joy! :eek:0 -
Morning all.
Not posted for a while, don't know where my time has gone. I have a bad back so I am also not sleeping. It feels like baby is laying on something they shouldn't. When they kick I wince, when they move I'm fine. Really sore.
As for those of you with take aways near by I'm not jealous (much). Our nearest is a 15 minute drive. One will deliver but it was sooooo expensive I'd rather go out and have a proper meal than pay their prices lol. I still manage to eat lots of rubbish although I had such a huge lunch that lasted all afternoon I didn't eat any tea other than some raisins. I'm still full now.
My midwife suggested not watching OBEM as she siad they only show the extreme cases. She told me to watch some nice clam waterbirths. Doesn't help I'm still terrified. Is OBEM that bad? I tried once but turned it off. I'm even more scared being 15 on the list after the boldies.
I've missed a few births so congrats ladies, I see a few of my name choices on the list too. Hope you are all doing well.
Have a good weekend all.0 -

I can't understand your midwife saying that Mr Knight. I didn't watch any OBEM until I got pg and I was addicted to it, even watched the rubbish US version too. I think the UK version showed a whole variety of births and I think I learned a lot from it. It is very realistic and not all soft camera focus like the US version, and I think it is probably a true reflection of all the situations you could be faced with when in labour. Some women had really straight forward births and some didn't, but then I think it is better to be prepared and have as much info as possible. I can't wait for the next series, I was hoping it would be on this autumn, but it isn't on until February apparently
I didn't like OBEM at Christmas though, they spoiled it with too much of the presenters yapping on and interviewing people, and very few actual labours or births.0 -
I didn't watch OBEM- unfortunately I found it boring after a couple of episodes, as there seemed to be a lot of chatting rather than the labour/hospital side Iwas interested in. May have just watched a dull episode....
DH is trying to cheer me up.He's trying to sympathise with me being painful, and has just told me that baby is so active inside me that he thinks I won't go full-term as baby is 'obviously looking out.' Would there be any basis in that? I've heard similar from my family and his mother.

Wow. lovely bright sunshine this morning but MAN! was it chilly! The frost indicator on my car even came on. As a result i decided i had to get my a*s into gear and buy a maternity coat. I've been trying to get one for ages, but couldnt find a decent one in my size, even on ebay.
So just back from an early trip to our huge tesco, and bought a normal winter coat, but 2 sizes up to fit my boobies and growing bump. Luckily its 25% off coats and knitwear today so only cost me £30 instead of £40.
Now waiting for the second lot (did whites/pales last night) of baby clothes and blankets to come out of the wash, so i can put some of them in my newly started hospital bags and pack the rest away ready.Married 13/03/10 #1 DD born 13/01/12!!

Morning folks! (God I'm sounding like the OH, shoot me now).
Think JJ is having a long lie, only had a slight wriggle when I moved as opposed to the full on "Get up!" kicks I usually get. May be because he/she mistook the "getting up to pee" moment at 2am for "ooh its 8am, time to start the day" and I was up for ages with him/her lol."Beautiful young people are accidents of nature, But beautiful old people are works of art."
