I've been using Mothercare's own and I think they're great. A nice big sticky bit on them to keep them in place. And very absorbent :)
  • Gilly that sounds like me with the pantyliners thing.

TMI alert! I have actually bleached several pairs of knickers the past couple of months through not using pantyliners god knows why as never had a problem with anything like that before pregnancy but like you've said it really does take away your dignity.

I threw some of mines in the bin! It's seriously disturbing, but worth it I guess :p

  • ive stopped wearing my "nice" knickers and only wear the scabby ones now as i figure i can go on a decent shopping binge once baby is here and finally get some decent undies again.

My boobs have been leaking for weeks seafarers_wife  I've been using the Boots slim maternity pads, but I think they're pretty rubbish, well depending on what time of bra you're wearing,

I had an image of someone wearing a bra with a boots slimline maternity sanitary pad  down the front for a minute then! i am tired
:j Proud mum to Jade age 10 years and Baby Ellie born Christmas Day:eek: with a broke heart :( Proven to be a little fighter and battling on with her heart condition :j

Use your stained or scabby knicks after baby comes instead of the disposable ones. I take my falling apart old granny pants then throw them away once I stop bleeding. And yes ladies you are right - pregnancy and birth take away your dignity. With DS2, because I had a c-section, a health assistant had to help me put on a pad and my pants. You can imagine how embarrassed I was by the falling apart ones!!!

Shows your how much this baby is affecting my brain, combine that with not working, when I've always worked and I feel like my brain get's no work out at all. I meant breast pads.. You're on the ball, you're the only one who noticed it :p

thanks, im happy to try the re-usable and the disposable ones so its a case of trial and error then :).
a word of warning - i was using the boots ones and foolishly didn't use the little net bag that they come in to wash them. cue two pads disappearing into the washing machine, only to surface a week and two weeks later having thoroughly blocked my filter (and tangled up so much that it was nearly impossible to get the filter plug out to remove it) whilst i am trying to be environmentally friendly (washable wipes and reusable nappies) i have reverted to disposable breast pads under threat of divorce from the OH who is sick of having a flooded utility room (as the machine discharges its water on the floor when you open the filter cap - such was the scale of blockage the drain hose would not work)
  • Hope all is progressing well for Winnie, Bella and SC :D

Are you still getting the huggies newborn packs? just to pre warn you that i got one in boots yesterday and it said on the outside sleeve ££'s off rather than £5 off. when i opened it there was £2 off newborn and the same off swimmers but nothing off wet wipes. Still a great offer just worth knowing.

Yeah I'm getting the Boots ones as and when I can, and the Asda alwys seem to have them in. I feel as though I'm being robbed having to pay an extra 50p at Asda though :D The Boots offer ends 18th Oct. I think I've got 8 packs of nappies to trade up at the mo. Asda huggies wipes are back up to £2 now, but Boots have them for £1 until the 18th. I've been caught out a few times and got boxes without the wipes voucher :(

just in case anyone is/was interested, Elizabeth Rose was born on 27 September at 5:34pm weighing 6lb 14oz, 10 days overdue. She swallowed some merconium whilst in the womb and ended up in special care for 7 days but we're home now and doing well.

:j:j:jCongrats Debs :D Beautiful name, Rose seems very popular as a middle name at the mo. It is my niece's middle name and I know a few people on here have said they might use it too.

I like to think stretch marks in pregnancy are really called "lovely baby lines"!!

I've had mine since about 25 weeks and boy do they itch. I'm going to think of themas baby lines now :D

I am so glad it is the weekend and I've got 2 days off because I am so tired. Yesterday I forgot to go and meet a client, today I turned up at a clients house without the paperwork I needed, I drove into a 'no entry' street, and I tripped over my mam's doorstep and fell over, fortunately I managed to twist and landed on my bum, but jolted my back in the process :( A rough day!

I've just had a supermarket Indian followed by apple pie and cream - no wonder I have stretch marks!! :rotfl:
