  • That's a lot of sleep Jenjade! You obviously need it so make the most of it - when you've caught up you'll feel much better for it I'm sure!

I've just spoken to the duty midwife about my waters possibly breaking. She said it could just be discharge but to have a wash and keep an eye on it and to call her again if the contractions get any stronger. She said I could go up to the hospital for monitoring but that they're really busy so I probably wouldn't get seen today anyway. I'm seeing my consultant again tomorrow and I'd rather see her than the bloke that's on duty today anyway so I'm happy to stay home.

So I'm off for a soak in the bath, my back and hips are killing so I fully expect to get stuck but I don't have to collect DS from school today so it doesn't matter and DH will be home at 4.30 so he can yonk me out if needs be!

They should be in 3 pieces, the main pot, a little lid for the top, and another bit with a hole in.
You take the top two bits off and fill the pot with milk (however many scoops you need) then you put the two top bits on.
Fill the bottles with the water, then the little milk pots should sit (lid up) in the neck of the bottle. Then you can put the teat etc on the bottle.
When you want to use the bottle, remove the lid & teat, take out the pot, take the little lid off, empty the milk into the bottle, replace teat and lid, & shake. :)
Took me a while to figure it out haha!

Ooooooohhhhhh!!!!! LOL! I NEVER would have worked that out in a million years!

Another stoopid question - do you ALWAYS have to heat/warm formula? Or can/do they have it cold (well room temperature I suppose) occasionally? God, I am so clueless I'm going to kill this child! :o

Winnie, I hope this is for you. I've had no symptoms that indicate labour at all yet though Giblet is pressing my belly button from the inside so maybe she's coming out the sunroof :rotfl:

skitt cat- they can have it at room temp but it can cause the baby stomach pains and cramps so best to warm it if at all possible. being a mother is such a mindfield!

when do you guys recommend packing a hospital bag? everyone is convinced my baby will be here really early. so far i am measuring a week and a half ahead and borderline for gestational diabetics.

I am having a 3d next Thurs (13th) cant wait! i am also hoping it will be able to give me more idea what size she is etc. She feels huge moving around inside and always seems to be head down feet up position wise.

I will try and post a bump pic

jenjade I think most people suggest from 34 weeks but if it's not your first I would do it earlier.

I'm terrified now - someone on facebook has reported snow to start THIS FRIDAY - ok in Scotland - but I'm terrified of having an unprepared home birth if we can't get to the hospital

We are virtually cut off in this village if there is snow as it's rural roads and hills to get out of it
