  • Been to one of the Nearly New Sales in my area today, came home with a great play mat for £11 and an all in one coat thing 0-3 months for £2. There is another one next week and might see what else I can get then. Have bought quite a bit brand new but also some used stuff so quite happy :)

Sending positive thoughts to all wanting babies this weekend x

What has happened to Wonder Womble she was here loads now she has vanished hope she is okay!
I too was wondering where Wonder Womble has been? Hope she's ok?

Aaah, it's nice to be missed :) I've been on my jollibobs to Majorca :D

Sorry to hear that both your work places are being totally carp. I've read all the way back for the past 10 days or so and Jen I was gripped and absolutely incensed by the saga you have been through with your manager. What a spiteful useless c0w!! I'm glad to hear you are off sick, and when your note runs out I think you should ring the same GP for another one. I work for Local Authority too and my manger was a pain in the !!!!! until he went on holiday and I got punched in the stomach by a client. I went to his Line Manager and since then they can't do enough for me, to the point where they are being really restrictive on what they will allow me to do.

Blue, I hope you get sorted with your Annual Leave and Bank Holiday allowance. How is the big move going? Not long until you get your own place :D

Kandboys, I'm sorry to hear that your saga about the elective C section still continues. I hope you manage to get it sorted t your satisfaction soon.

Skint, happy due date. I must be OCD aswell as I'm due 11/12/11, but would really like bubs to arrive on 13/12/11 as I think that would be such a cool birthdate :D

Gilly, glad you are feeling better after your latest scan. Your consultant is right in that there are no guarantees that everything will be ok. My dad said as much to me when we were told we were high risk for Down's, no matter who you are you are never guaranteed a healthy baby. Even if you have the perfect pregnancy with all your tests and scans looking great there is still risk involved, that is why we have so many midwife and hospital appointments.

Congrats to all the new mummies and babies that I missed while I was away.

And can people please stop joining the list above me please, for every birth there seems to be another newbie due before me.

I *really* should do something about my leg hair... It's getting a bit  Although, having said that, has anyone noticed their hair growth slowing down? I shaved under my arms a few days ago and it's not grown back at all, whereas normally I have to go over them every couple of days. But there's no stubble at all. But then my fingernails, which normally grow really slowly, are having to get trimmed and filed every week as I can't keep on top of them! Go figure!

I'm the same 4nnabella, I shaved my legs and pits about 10 days ago and haven't had to do them since, It's fab!! Normally I do them every other day. Mind you I've got talons like a bird of prey, and I can't keep up with them.

Just told OH it is suppsed to mean we are having a girl and he did a 'victory lap' around the dining room and said 'I told my sperm to make a girl' :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl: Hope he isn't disappointed on the day :o

I'm waiting for the carpet fitter to come and lay the carpet in the nursery. He was supposed to be here between 10 and 1pm (he finishes at 1pm). He rang 45 minutes ago and said I'll be there in 15 mins. I hope he doesn't rush it and do a bodge job because I will not be a happy bunny and may do him physical injury :o

Well our hol to Majorca was fab, weather was scorching so I couldn't wear my support band as it was like having thermal underwear on. So I didn't get much sleep due to back and hip pain. It's been much better since being home though, even though I am still sweating with the support band in this heat.

We had a lovely week, just relaxing, trying to snooze, eating ice cream and drinking milkshakes :D I was looking forward to getting home, until we walked in the door and realised that the switch for our sockets on the fuse box had tripped while we were away and all the food in the fridge and 2 freezers had gone off. Really annoying since I had done a fod shop before we went away and stocked them up, and cooked loads of meals to freeze so I wouldn't have to do it all when we got back. I had to chuck it all, salmon, peppered mackerel, scampi, cod, fishcakes, chicken, bacon, sausages along with pizzas, chips, bread, ice cream, home made apple pie and yoghurt cake, lasagne, curry, chilli, bolognese etc I was gutted, and despite cleaning the fridge and freezers numerous times, they still have a faint pong to them :( It's not worth claiming off the house insurance, by the time you pay the excess and they bump your premium up the following year, and it isn't so much the cost that upsets me, although it's annoying. It's more the wasted time that I spent shopping and cooking before going away, and now I have to do it all again to replace it  and I'm bliddy knackered.

Anyway, on a more positive note, bump has had a busy week with lots of movement and some of them have been so strong they have made me feel queasy  I think it is the one thing I will miss about being pregnant.

I know a few people have mentioned they have measured a couple of centimetres bigger than they should be. I saw my midwife about 10 or 11 days ago and was measuring 2 and half weeks ahead. She said that it is only a concern if you measure 3 weeks bigger or smaller than you should be, and this is because of growth spurts that the baby has.

Hope everyone is enjoying the lovely weather, I'm away to stand at the end of our drive and look for the carpet fitter who has obviously got very lost.

Yeah I want to use the Bumgenius reusables but they dont fit newborns very well. Im trying to decide whether to use disposables at first or get a few reuseables that will fit newborns to see if I can get on with them before splashing out on a birth to potty system.
babame.com (which incidentally are in newry) have bumgenius all in one (not birth to potty) for £7.50 reduced from £10.50. i got 6 of them to try and find them excellent, i got the small (not newborn) that does from 8-16lb but have been using them from she was 7lb, they are not too bulky. Also trying little lambs but they make her bum HUGE. Planning to ebay when she outgrows them and recoup a good bit of costs. finding washables dead easy actually, glad i tried them! the bumgenius flip system looks very good (and affordable!) for birth to potty as well

I'm measuring about a week and a half ahead, and I'm absolutely huge- will post a pic later!

DH helped me wax today- he's an angel. Considering all I've really done in the last week is consume my body weight in food, and choose two funky light fittings in B&Q which meant DH had to rewire the sockets as our wiring was too old for them, he is being really lovely. :)

I've also been promised a continental breakfast in the morning, with coffee and orange juice, and bruschetta and croissants- I knew there was a reason I married him!

WW, good to see you back, and congrats Elmo!

It's X Factor and munchies for me tonight and I'm over the moon, where did my life go?!?
