Nice to hear from you Kira, hope that they are wrong and baby turns up a lot earlier than that!

If nothing happens by Friday I'm sure they'll be wanting me to book up for induction next week. Still time for yesterday's sweep to have some effect, I'm trying to stay positive!

Thanks for keeping us updated. Whoah looks like you could be in for a long wait then,hope not tho. Do you have to stay in hospital or could you go back home for a while?

Consultant wants me in for obs... wouldnt mind but woman in bay opposite me is a nightmare. will NOT stop talking and its all drivel, she hasnt got any money for tv and has nothing else to do with her. hence sits llooking at what i amdoing and yaking on...... :mad:

I don't envy you the annoying woman - a big pheww that at our local hospital - all rooms are private with en-suite!!! x x x

Congrats to all the new arrivals and good luck Kira!!!

Just wanted to share my experience of the taboo subjec perineal massage...

I started it a week and a half ago and have really noticed a reduction in the burning\stinging and also how it stretches.

If any of you were thinking of doing it I'd recommend it. I don't know how it will affect me during labour coz I'm only 35+3 lol but I can say honestly I have noticed a difference already HTH x

Midwife came to do sweep but baby not at all engaged and head really high up so couldn't do it. She said little point coming back to attempt a second on Friday because of this so i'll get a phone call on Saturday to book me in for an induction on Monday. Feeling really low now, rang OH to tell him and ended up crying over the phone. Went into labour naturally at 4 days over and had DS at 6 days over last time so never imagined it wouldn't just happen this time. Need something to happen before Monday now, but with the pelvic pain don't even feel I can manage to go out for a walk.

Gilly - glad your little "toddler" isn't as big as they had thought. The hospital told me that blood pressure is expected to rise is most pregnant women from 34 weeks. Mine was rising a couple of weeks before that so they're keeping a weekly check on me. Not long to go now for us both
PS - I've not had a KFC for ages. Might need to remedy that soon :rotfl:

Nothing new to report here. Started the raspberry leaf today at 37w. Have midwife appointment tomorrow and then another scan next week (due to high bmi) to check the baby is still head down. I keep thinking about starting the perineal massage, but I'm not sure that I can reach and I really don't ant to ask hubby to do this. I'm trying my best to hang on to whatever dignity is left in pregnancy........ :rotfl: How often are you ladies doing this?

I didnt know about massage but I have already started using olive oil on that part of my body - my Mum recommended it.

Ladies that have the birthing/gym balls, can I ask where is the best place to get them please, dont want to spend a fortune.
