We havent got a protector for the crib mattress either- the one we got is supposed to be breathable and maintain airflow, to stop bacteria bredding in the mattress, and make it healthier/safer for the baby, hence the holes through the mattress, so it seemed a bit counter productive to stick another layer over the top which seals everything in/out. We made sure we got a mattress with a removable washable cover, and we have plenty of sheets and muslins to put over it too, so that should be fine..... (i hope)

Speaking of all glamour on a saturday night..Sorry if this is TMI/a bit personal, are any of the other boldies/nearly boldies getting a wierd feeling when going for a wee? Today and yesterday, when i go, it feels like i can feel pushing down inside my lady bits- almost like bean is sticking down a bit and gonna fall out. I'm assuming i'm imagining it, or its something else, as i should think the registrar would have noticed a baby head or something in my cervix when he did my internal! And he said my cervix wasnt ripe yet, so it doesnt seem likely. ???

I get that feeling when I've been walking for a bit. Feels like he's going to fall out, but I don't think thats likely somehow.

Maybe it's because they can engage further, and come back out again before they get to a certain point?

Might be what your Bubs is doing. X

Well, my notes from the registrar say that i am 2/5 palpable (4/5 engaged)- or if you have read about "station", i am apparently at 2. 4 is when top of bubs head is visible.
I've had the really really strong pressure in my lower area when walking for a while, this is a different feeling, only when i'm on the loo.
I really hope it might be something starting. Never know i guess, maybe the examination yesterday got things going. I've had some more sharp shooting pains up from my lower back this afternoon. Nothing to do but wait!!

Kira, I was at 4/5 engaged yesterday and it does feel like she's really low when walking, but I can't say I've noticed anything when off for a wee.

Hope you and Aimless are getting something that will mean babies soon! I'm still only getting BH but more of them.

I've had that feeling for the past few days Kira, every time I go for a wee. My bits just feel so "swollen" too, not sure how else to describe it? Anyone else feel like that?

I've been having really bad period type cramps all afternoon again, can't find my hot water bottle either, been moaning really loudly to OH about it, but not much any of us can do about it.

Gilly, what about making some nice healthy soup for quick easy lunches? Thats one thing I plan to do.

I may do that too actually. Will leave that to next week, as can nip up to the green grocers to get veg easy enough. Although with the way I'm feeling at the moment, not sure if I'll last until then!

I think I'm definitely starting to get the 'pressure between the legs' feeling, and I can feel it more when I go to the toilet. Last time anyone checked I was 3/5 engaged. I have my next appointment on Thursday so will see if that's changed.

I started my batch cooking the other day, but only with some soup to have for my lunch for the next couple of weeks. I'm going to make some casseroles I think, and a load of bolognese sauce, and maybe a couple of lasagnes that I'll portion up into containers. Best get cracking with that really, otherwise baby will be here and I'll have run out of time!
