Dinah lol. There's a lady up the road here. She has reborn dolls and sits them in the front room window so they can see out. It's seriously freaky.

Just had my 36 week appointment, all approved for a home birth. The midwife is visiting us at home next week to do the paperwork :)

Everything is going fine and apparently baby has engaged already so she did warn me he might be early... but on the other hand he might just be awkward ;) It was interesting to hear that I won't have to be induced if I don't want to, as long as the baby is fine - she said the furthest over she's ever had was 23 days overdue!

Well. Just had a phone call from midwife.

She's booked me in for a sweep at 40weeks and induction at 40+6 if Bump isn't here by then as she's seen sizes and predicted size.

    Feel better now :)

    Xxxx

Glad you feel better now... :)

40+6... thats me today. And no sweep or induction booked, and that was with a predicted size of about 9lb 8oz on due date before she had a growth spurt!:(

Kira can you not call your antenatal day unit and tell them you think you have been lost in the system? They must do something they can't leave you indefinitely xx

Thanks hon- there is a gap, but kind of my fault as i'm going out of area for the birth, so my local m/w's arent willing to do sweeps and stuff and are leaving it all to the hospital, who seem quite non-interventionist.
I'm seeing the consultant tomorrow though, so hoping that she will put a plan in place then! When i saw her 2 weeks ago, she said they were happy to go 2 weeks over, so by that, i've still got a week before they will definately act!

40+4, and no sweep here until 41 at the very least. And only then if I do a 20 mile round trip to their clinic, otherwise I'm waiting till 41+4 for my usual day. I didn't get a prediction of size, but working at 6 pounds 3ish at 34 weeks, probably around 9 pounds 3 on due date? No one seems that interested because the tape measure says everything is on target. If I wait till 41+4 for the sweep, presumably they have to book the induction that day too?

Not once have I ever been given any indication of potential baby size. All they do is measure the bump, which has been in line with what it should be the whole way along. I wish I had an idea of how big Pip is getting!

The policy round here is to do sweeps at 41 weeks and induction at 42, but I asked for earlier as his predicted birthweight is 10lb 5oz on due date. To go 2 weeks over would put him over 11lbs and it did scare me. Consultant said no but made a note I'd asked, midwife has agreed with me as anything over 10lb is considered big.

DD was 8lb 5oz at 11 days overdue so god knows why Bump is so big this time.

Kira. I'd definitely ask for a sweep at least. Worst they can say is no. Xxx

I only got a indication of size as they did a special growth scan at 34 weeks as part of my consultant care- she came up as very top end of "normal", with the 9lb 8oz prediction and so no further action was thought needed. Its just the big growth spurts in my bump measurements happened in the following weeks which are worrying me!
