I'm not sure Laura, but I'd give them a phone and see what they say :)

Don't know if anyone else watches it, but Benedict Cumberbatch from Sherlock is fastly becoming my guilty pleasure, he's a posh twit and weird looking but there's something sooo attractive about him. Is it my pregnancy hormones? Or am I a total weirdo :o

Well. Now am not a happy bunny.

Just had 37week growth scan, and all is good. Except baby is measuring 41 weeks gestation with a current estimated weight of 8lb 5oz.

Radiographer told me to be prepared for another scan next week to check size as even she was surprised.

However, today's consultant (not my usual one) told me that as there's no health benefits to me or baby, he won't consider early induction, no matter what the size so no need for more scans, or any more treatment.

He even said he'd be more than happy for me to go the full 2 weeks over.

Now I'm scared, as at last growth scan, he measured spot on 33weeks, in the last 4 weeks, he's grown the equivalent of 8 weeks :(

Feel like I could burst into tears.

:( major hugs redhead, I know exactly how you feel. Some people are telling me I'll get early induction with big baby and others are telling me definitely not :(

So you've not to go back for another scan or anything? xxxxxxx (((HUGS)))

*Hugs*. That is pretty much my story too. Had a 32 week growth scan, where bean was estimated to arrive at 9lb 8oz based on current size, but was with in the "normal" range albeit on the very large end. However at the time, i was measuring 32 weeks. At my 34w, i was measuring 37.5, at 37 weeks, i had stayed at 38, then for my 39 went to measuring 41.
Saw the consultant just before Christmas, who said the same as yours, that size didnt change anything really, and unless there was a health problem, they wouldnt induce just becuase of large baby....
Now 40+5 and about to see the midwife, so will report back on how i measure today!

    No Gilly.

Consultant said it's pointless as they aren't prepared to do an early induction, so unless Bump himself decides to make an appearance, then I just have to sit it out till the end.

Just don't want to think about another 5 weeks of this. He'll be massive.

I just don't see what the point of this growth scan was, if they aren't prepared to act on it. Xxxx

I just had consultant and have been booked in for C-section for 20th January, a Friday afternoon, could someone change me on list please xxx
Baby is still breech and where my diabetes is still erratic they are going to take no chances of letting her go past 38 weeks. Terrified but excited xxxxx

Hope everyone is okay, Gilly I just told oh I need shortbread after baby is born and he has promised to make a batch from your recipe, this diabetes has really been hard to tolerate with xmas, I had to watch eeryone tuck into nice foods where I ahd to inject and eat boring bland stuff xxxx

I wondered the exact same thing, but reading around and asking at my appointment, it seems to be partly in case it is a real macrosonomic baby (i.e huge outside the normal range- ie. an 11lber+ , and partly so they know for when you do go into labour, so they know what to look for if you struggle.

TBH, i was in the same place as you, not wanting to think about another 5 weeks, and was all for induction, but the sweep was so awful before xmas when the consultant had a go to see if i was suitable for induction (i wasnt!), that it did really put me off the idea of being induced before my cervix was ready for it.
