  • Happydays, we have gone for the 3 wheel Mothercare mychoice! Boring compared to the Quinny range, but after reading the reviews last year we were really put off the Quinny's. The mothercare one was a great price in comparrison, was 2 of the big baby magazines pram combo of the year, and is great if you are taller as the handle is moveable much further than some others. x x x

Well. I am having a wobbly day today. Started crying because OH said he loved me more than ever this morning, then because DD said she loved me and bump, now just cried again for no reason whatsoever.

It's so unlike me it's untrue lol.

Worrying now too about what effect Bump will have on DD. I don't want her to feel left out or like she isn't as important to me anymore. So trying to think of how I can make that as clear as possible to her.

Gilly - good news with the voucher from Mamas and Papas :) x

Hugs Redhead. I have days when i cant stop crying and find everything very overwhelming.
I also have a DS whos 11 and i worry about including him aswell so he doesnt feel left out as it has just been me and him for quite a long time.
Im sure you will find a way of making your DD realise she is still as important to you even when you have to share your time. She will most likely become your little helper!!!

Ah okay the Zapp does look a bit flimsy. So I understand where you're coming from.

I know a few people with the Buzz and they absolutely love it, they also say it lasts for years, it's fine for toddlers etc.

My pram is the M&P Mylo and it's supposed to be really good for Tall parents, it has a moveable handle and goes to really long for really tall people I'd imagine  The Stokke is another choice for tall parents apparently but I can't comment on that really as I've only had a look not tried it out.

I'm 5ft 8 as well, and that was one reason why we went for the M&P Sola. The three adjustable handlebar positions are really handy for making sure it suits your height.

We've got the iCandy peach and that's got a height-adjustable handle. I'm 5'10" and OH is about 6'2" and it feels like its at a good height when extended fully. I think I'll be using the carrycot for daytime sleeps downstairs and leave the Moses basket up in the bedroom for nighttime. Although I may now look into whether the mattress is suitable for this, unless anyone has noticed anything whilst doing pram research? It hadn't occurred to me that it may not be suitable for naps...

I don't know if I'm having a baby shower or not. OH asked me a few weeks ago if I wanted one, but he said he didn't know if it was something he should organise or a friend of mine or what. I think he thought it should really be a surprise! So I haven't a clue if I'm having one or not! I'm not bothered about organising anything myself, so told him to speak to my best friend and if they arrange something between them then great, if not then that's fine too!

On the baby shower front, no, MIL did suggest it, but tbh we have far too much stuff as it is, I don't know anyone that well here really, and sometimes I think they're a bit "BUY ME THINGS PLEASE" obviously not everyone though :p If I was to have one I'd probably have it around 35/36 weeks, I think that's the most common time to have them? If I was at home me and my friends would probably go out for lunch/cakes etc though, I think I'd prefer that.

I think for daytime naps most prams with carrycots are suitable Annabella, for all it costs we're just being a bit OTT I think with buying the extra mattress :o I'm more thinking of if we end up at OH's parents, it'd be somewhere for baby to sleep over night or if we end up being out for longer than planned, it's comfier for baby. I wish someone put so much thought into my comfort :o

I dont know what the spec for the peach mattress says about usage- the M&P carrycot mattress is designed for light usage- i.e when you are out and about with LO in it. They say if you want to use it for longer periods (over nights) or more usage, its best to get the extra mattress.

Edit: just found this which has a bit on overnight usage, looks like you might be Ok without an extra- http://www.icandyuk.com/faq.php
