Question, I've just roasted a chicken for our tea tonight, only to find OH went to the chippy while I was in the shower and has basically had a massive portion of food  so if I wait til it cools, and portion it off, will it be ok to keep in the fridge over night and heat it up for dinner tomorrow?
No point in me doing a full roast now, as he'd only eat that as well and he's already carrying Christmas weightThe frontier is never somewhere else. And no stockades can keep the midnight out.0 -

:mad::mad: Could he not smell the roasting chicken before he decided to go to the chippy??
Yes, the chicken will be fine to use tomorrow if you fridge it as soon as it is cooled down. Do it all the time in this house for left over chicken roast.Married 13/03/10 #1 DD born 13/01/12!!

Worrying now too about what effect Bump will have on DD. I don't want her to feel left out or like she isn't as important to me anymore. So trying to think of how I can make that as clear as possible to her.
I've taken my lanky teen for some well overdue, if expensive! clothes shopping in the last few days (how did we end up with only two pairs of jeans that fit?!). We may also have 'accidentally' bought rather a lot of 70% off Xmas chocolate and hidden it from the other half.
You could get a congratulations on becoming a big sister card for her? I've got a card for teen and another for the other half hidden in my hospital bag ready to fill in at the appropriate moment.0 -

He knew it was in there, he was the one who took it out, because I said when the oven beeps could you take the chicken out please, he did that and then went to the chippy for "a snack" he said then came back with 2 sausages and a whole portion of chips and curry!
His response oh you can just do dinner later, I'm not cooking a roast at 8 o clock at night, I'll just have soup, I'm not even that hungry anyway. The frontier is never somewhere else. And no stockades can keep the midnight out.0 -

Oh I used to be such an angry person, but I'm trying really hard at the moment, he has exams coming up next week which are really important and is spending most of his time with his head in the books, and I know how much they mean to him and how much he wants to do well for us all as a family so I'm a bit more chilled than I'd normally be, plus I can't be fooked doing roasties and mash and stuff tonight so sort of glad in a way, and happy the chicken will keep as it's a lovely plump free range chicken, which we don't buy often
I'm so sleepy, really want to stay awake to watch Sherlock from last night, not sure I'll manage itThe frontier is never somewhere else. And no stockades can keep the midnight out.0 -

im not sure what part of no my husband dosent understand but he is in the dog house when he gets home if he is carrying a furry friend with him. i told him explixitly that we are having another baby and we do not need another dog, so he hears about a dog thats going to be put down if it isnt rehomed by the end of the week and guess where he has gone.. seriously if you think the above post is angry, im going to nock him out (ok im not but i will be withdrawing his marital privelidges, expecting a bath run and be a bit mean for a few days)0
