Hormones in, wits out:D:DHow old is she hun?:Dforever_saving wrote: »Uolypool i hope you come to the right decision. Girls can be such a pain. My two girls are so different, one is lovely (most of the time) and it's as if the other one has a split personality. She can be full of the joys of spring one minute and the next, she won't talk to me, stomps about. On the other hand the lovely one is sooo lazy and the other is helpful. She is no stranger to the hoover
. One thing they have in common is they too don't like the word no. I'm afraid i don't give in and just ride out the tantrums and the "I'm going to live with Nannie and Grandpa".

uoloypool .....Girls are a real PITA my DD is 22 and we are clashing like mad, had another bust up with her this morning she was moaning that she had no clean clothes, I am not her bl**dy maid .
I told her to find a flat and move out, I am just so fed up with her attitude and her idle ways . If I had spoken to my Mum like she speaks to me, my Dad would have slapped me senseless .[/QUOTE
Thank you all for taking the time to read and reply. She turned 14 on Wednesday, thats when this big kick off also started as I told her off for being on fb until 4.15am:eek:.She took offence and this is the result (oh yeah and cant forget the huge lovebite on her neck!!:mad:)
She hasn't left yet , but is on the phone to her boyfriend telling him how much she hates me atm , I've just left her to it and carried on with my day, am refusing to let it spoil my day;).So have just started thinking of getting ready for sons surprise leaving party tonight and left her stressing on the stairs. She WILL NOT spoil tonight. If she is so hell bent on going to her dads then I have decided to let her , she will be back, then perhaps she will learn that I have rules for a reason.
BB I have to be honest I dont and never have hit my children but I too know if I had spoken to my mum or dad like that I to would have got a wallop.Paul Walker , in my dreams;)0 -
uolypool I'm betting when she finds out Dad won't wait on her hand, foot and finger, she will be home within a week, and on the upside you get a weeks breathing space and peace .I have two DDs who drove me nuts at times as when they were 13-15 their Dad was halfway around the world working in Port Sudan. So I was the bad guy who wouldn't let them do what they wanted, when they wanted, or with whom they wanted, as if anything had happened the first thing their Dad would have said was 'Where were you' so I was double strict with them and at times my youngest used to have a doll that she stuck pins in as she thought I was being too strict with her
:) luckily they do grow up and grow out of it thank goodness and become human beings again (eventually). Oh she also didn't like it when I said we couldn't all pack up and swan off to Kenya to live as there were odd things like GCSE's to do first I was 'ruining her life and her opportunities because of it' but we all survived the tantrums and tears. She now has an 18 year old and boy can I hear me in her voice when she is yelling at her for leaving her bedroom in a mess Karmic Retribution
:)
Well I have been busy today I made a nice quiche out of bits left in the frdge and had some with a jacket spud and some left over broccolli and grated cheese for a late lunch.I also made a lemon drizzle cake and some jam tarts and some chocolate topped fairy cakes so the baking tins are filled up for the week.I whizzed around with my new Hoover and tomorrow I only have the kitchen floor to do and the bathroom and I'm all up to date with the housework I'm just about to have a relaxing shower and wash my hair as eldest DD is picking me up for our family 'do' in London tonight so I don't even have to drive so I may have a glas of bubbly whilst there.Hope everyone has a great evening
Cheers chums

Good Afternoon x
You have my sympathies regarding truculent teenagers. I have had my fair share with my two eldest and it is still ongoing to some extent:eek:
I wish I had the answer but I always explain the reasoning behind my decisions and think that does help to some extent. I also try to compromise if possible and find that sometimes helps once the heat is out of the situation.
I have had a quiet day. Im tired as I was up in the night and then took DD to work for 6am. I have organised loads (literally) of washing but it has been raining and thundering all day so it looks like a Chinese Laundry.
This afternoon I went to Hobby Craft to try and get some inspiration as Im doing a course at the WI college to make Christmas Decorations. It is part of my plan to find a hobby and i have zero confidence in my abilities to do anything creative. However now that I am permanently retired I need to look for things to do as I get dreadfully bored and then Black Dog comes snapping at my heels. Fortunately Mooloo is coming with me so I feel much more empowered and confident - I was thinking of cancelling:o
Plan to make Salmon fishcakes for lunch and baking with the kids tomorrow. I also want to pot up some bulbs ready for the spring time :T:T:T.
Hugs to all those who need one xI must not fear. Fear is the mind-killer.
Fear is the little-death that brings total obliteration.
I will face my fear. I will permit it to pass over and through me. When it has gone past I will turn the inner eye to see its path.
When the fear has gone there will be nothing. Only I will remain.0 -

This is exactly what I intend to do. Am in the middle of straightening my hair and she keeps walking past my bedroom to the bathroom and banging the door. Bothered ...............not me:rotfl::rotfl:Paul Walker , in my dreams;)0 -
Teenagers seem to be the topic of the moment any my two (19 yr old twin lads) are moving into their own apartment two weeks today.
As much as I will miss my 'babies' I will not miss the moody argumentative testosterone fuelled beings that they can be! and I'm sure my poor DH will enjoy some peace from being the 'bad guy' for a while (every decision made is his you know as I cant possibly have an independent thought in my head...)
And as if to prove a point DS2's Gf came in about 5 minutes ago and was giving him a drilling about something (heard her when I was at the loo) so as it work here she has a go at him and puts him in a mood and so he has ago at either one of the younger kids or me.... so I've just told him to wind his f*****g neck in

me too, just an 'innocent' you're skinny when stroking them might get her to talk about any problems she's having with them - maybe they need worming? if its financial there are charities she could get help eg Blue Cross depending if she is on benefits.
If all gently gently efforts fail I'd go for the RSPCA - the dogs dont deserve to suffer no matter how much she loves them.
I'm going to try softly softly, she not on benefits, so not sure blue cross can help....
RSPCA won't do anything if they've a bowl of water accessible at all times
I saw her tonight, she made a point of say she's fed them....so maybe my comments last night hit home? I'll see...
Spent 5 hours baking!! hundreds of mini cakes, a big chocolate sponge and some meringues later and i'm exhuasted! now need to get ready for my party!Annual Grocery Budget £364.00/£1500

JackieO I would love your jam tart recipe... is the filling just normal jam? I was thinking of making jam tarts and mince pies at Christmas to cater for different tastes. We spend money we don't have, on things that we don't need, to impress people we don't like. I don't and I'm happy! Mortgage Free Wannabe :dance:Overpayments Made: £5400 - Interest Saved: £11,550 - Months Saved: 240

Hello all,
Having a particularly bad few days activity wise....seem to be back to sleeping for 16 hours if no body wakens me....OH is of the opinion that I must need the sleep if I don't wake up...I am of the opinion that laziness is taking over my life....am going to start setting an alarm clock from Monday as if I don't when short days come in I will be sleeping even more.
My thoughts are very much with the poor families who have lost their loved ones in the mine in Wales.
One load of clothes on clothes horse in a spare room, hopefully they will dry sometime, need to do some hoovering and tidying and window cleaning....having all these spare rooms is not a great idea, means I put off doing things until either somebody is visiting or the dust builds up.
Sorry for moan, will stop now.
Uolypool, know that you are out by now, enjoy your evening.
JackieO, easy on the bubbly!
Taplady....glad to hear that you are feeling better.
Bramble....aren't you the kind young ladywith all your baking! Our Kerry eats like a horse but still looks as if she hasn't had a decent feed since she was born...coat is lovely and shiny and she is in great form so hopefully it is just something like that with your friend's dogs....keep an eye out though, sounds sad if she just can't afford to feed them properly.
Cool here, I am not feeling the cold very much as havent left the house or garden for 2 days, but OH lights the living room fire as soon as he gets up....forgave him to-day as he was watching Ireland defeating Australia in New Zealand....hope that its not just a flash in the pan.
We had ham and cabbage again for dinner to-day....we bought a piece of ham the other day for €4.99 and we have now had 3 dinners (6 portions) off it and there is still lots left for sandwiches during the week....it was lovely too so feeling I've had a bargain.
Hester....I should be doing apples all the time at present, have dehydrated some, given some to a neighbour and will get back to dehydrator to-morrow, no space in freezer so will be drying most of them...will be nice to have during the winter.
Flutterby...congratulations on new car.
Going to try to get to bed early to-night as work best in early morning if I can beat myself out of bed then.
Hugs and positive vibes to all who need them, stay safe and sleep well.
