Afternoon ladies, hope all is well. Hugs where wanted or needed.:)
My thoughts are with the miners families, so sad:(
Wet here this morning but has dried up now and have washing on the line.My niece phoned my daugher to ask if she would like to spend the day with her but was met with "nope I'm packing to go and live with my dad":eek::mad:.I dont think so she would end up totally off the rails there. No rules , fat chance of that happening. She phoned her dad up and he was "of course you can sweetheart, what time do you want me to pick you up?" My dilema is do I let her go and see that the grass isn't greener on the other side, but risk her coming home totally wild or say no full stop and risk her running ? He wont even discuss it with me:mad::mad:
Woofer crept up the stairs last night and I was just coming out the bathroom and heard him, snapped on the landing light and he looked like a rabbit that had been caught in car headlights:rotfl::rotfl: a big Rottweiler trying to shrink himself into the wall so he couldnt be seen. Was funny.
We are going out tonight as is the last weekend ds2 is here before uni , he doesnt know it yet but have arranged a leaving party for him:T:T think there will be some sore heads in the morning.
Will update if any developments with dd arise.

UOLYPOOL i'd let her go, then they can both get a reality check about each other. My DD was a pain at that age, and at 24 sadly isn't much better now:mad::mad:

  • Quick post for reasons which will become apparent. Me and OH still got lurgy but now out of bed - hussah! Feel better than we have done for ages and last week is officially "MIA". Good job we didn't buy tickets for a local festival as it's now chucking it down. Budgies bought me tickets to see The Damned for my birthday BUT it's when we're in London (OH forgot when he was buying them) so  BUT got Poirot boxed set as well..... now off to get prescription filled and a birthday cake - and maybe some bronzer as the stuff I bought 10 years ago has finally run out - I only use it in summer/holidays..... Back later!
But I'm going to say this once, and once only, Gene. Stay out of Camberwick Green :D
  • Have had quite a good day so far. Did well with the shopping, hopefully i won't need much during the week. Washing line was full, all dry now. Some of it i put in the tumble for ten minutes just to finish it off. All ironed and put away. I haven't been this organised for ages!
Uolypool i hope you come to the right decision. Girls can be such a pain. My two girls are so different, one is lovely (most of the time) and it's as if the other one has a split personality. She can be full of the joys of spring one minute and the next, she won't talk to me, stomps about. On the other hand the lovely one is sooo lazy and the other is helpful. She is no stranger to the hoover ;). One thing they have in common is they too don't like the word no. I'm afraid i don't give in and just ride out the tantrums and the "I'm going to live with Nannie and Grandpa".
Hope everyone has a good day and hugs to those who need them.

Id got for the subtle approach first, cos the RSPCA are no use unless dogs are really neglected:o:o

me too, just an 'innocent' you're skinny when stroking them might get her to talk about any problems she's having with them - maybe they need worming? if its financial there are charities she could get help eg Blue Cross depending if she is on benefits.

If all gently gently efforts fail I'd go for the RSPCA - the dogs dont deserve to suffer no matter how much she loves them.

  • Hi everyone, I lurk on here a bit but have never posted before! Feeling pleased with myself because I have been decorating the kitchen and its looking good. Our whole house needs a bit of an overhaul but we have no money to do it so its hard to get motivated. £35 spent on paint/materials for the kitchen so far though which isnt bad.

I am home alone this afternoon - DS1 and my OH are out watching football and DS2 has gone swimming with some friends. I suspect no-one will want much tea tonight so I might just heat up some leftovers, have got all sorts of odd portions of things in the freezer. It was supposed to be wet today but its actually bright and sunny so one load of washing is out and another in the machine.

Right, do I go and do some more painting or chill out with my book for an hour? Mmmm tough one. Maybe I should do a bit of painting first then chill out, have got a couple of hours before anyone will be home.

Well I have got rid of quite a bit of stuff and DH has taken down to the CS.

He just got back and was called down to the school because the alarms have gone off.

uoloypool .....Girls are a real PITA my DD is 22 and we are clashing like mad, had another bust up with her this morning she was moaning that she had no clean clothes, I am not her bl**dy maid .
I told her to find a flat and move out, I am just so fed up with her attitude and her idle ways . If I had spoken to my Mum like she speaks to me, my Dad would have slapped me senseless .
Blessed are the cracked for they are the ones that let in the light

Busy day for me today, I've got to pick up a friend's daughter at 12, we are making her dad a birthday cake, as it's his birthday today. Her mum died earlier in the year, and she wanted to do something special for her dad, so we are making him a chocolate cake :)

Aww Bramble, what a lovely thing to help do :A.

I had a lovely day with the girls, nice lunch and spot of shopping. Bumped into flatmate and schoolfriend who were shopping too so they joined us. Showed off my car to everyone too :D.

I forgot to mention yesterday that I won £25 on the Premium Bonds :j I always seem to win when I have made a big purchase. Sadly it doesn't cover the cost of the car! :rotfl: But it covers what petrol I put in yday!

Flakey friend has text to confirm dinner tonight so we are off to local pub, I'm gonna miss X Factor though.
