Good morning
A quick update whilst 1Direction are been played at full volume from DDs room, would love some tickets to see them next year but prices are ridiculous and proving hard to get seated tickets.
Xmas shopping is nearly done, not wrapped anything yet or wrote cards so will pull my finger out and do something later.
Puppy is doing well, enjoying his country walks and its a good excuse to hunt for logs for our stove as well. Hopefully we can build up a good stock and not have to buy any next year!
He is finally sleeping through, never thought he would but doing 11pm-6.30am so hopefully he'll gradually stretch out the time to 7am and go to bed for 10.30pm as I need more sleep than I'm currently getting!
Planning a quiet Xmas at home, long dog walks and spending time with the kids.
Plan for today is to reconcile our finances, hopefully won't be any nasty shocks but both cars hd to be serviced this week.
Hope everyone has a lovely day xx0 -
Good afternoon
Wow so long since I posted, sorry!!
Where to begin?
Well I have parted company with my horrible boss and got a much better job with nicer bosses and colleagues :j
It all happened rather quickly and it's all been a whirlwind but I'm a lot happier and more relaxed now. I don't want to go into details here but I wasn't treated very nicely and I'm glad to be out of there.
It's made me assess my work situation and I've acquired a few self employed clients as well as my new job so I'm hopefully going to build up the self employed side and eventually work totally for myself
DD and I got to see One Direction and they were fab, I think I enjoyed it more than DD!! The tickets were definitely not mse but worth every penny just to see the look on DD face when they came on stage!
DD starts secondary school in September so I've bought some uniform already so expensive though as its all school logo! She's turning into a right madam though (hormones) DS is still moody so now I have 2 hormonal children
Puppy is still doing well, although not so small anymore! He's a good boy though (most of the time) he gets selective hearing especially when out on a walk when something or someone is more interesting. I've lost count of the number of people I've apologised to over the last few months due to pupster been over attentive with strangers! He just wants to meet and greet everyone, unfortunately not everyone appreciates his warm greeting of puppy kisses!
Busy working this week as we go away next week so trying to cram everything in before we go away.
Better go and get some dinner ready xx0 -
:j CHOO your back :j.
Good to hear from you and glad you and the family is well.
Great that you have got a new job, sorry to hear that things were so bad with the previous one.

Good morning
Thank you to you all for the lovely comments and welcome back
I am going to post more often as it keeps me focused, I used to do so many little things that made a big difference but don't anymore so will try to pick them up again.
The list of small things to start again:-
No top up shops
Put my change into piggybank to treat myself and not to fritter it away
Surveys - finish them off, get some paid out, close most of them and keep the best ones
I read through my diary last night and came across a post about wanting to do something with the garden, ie patio etc. I've had a gardener round in the last 2 weeks and just waiting for quotes to come in now so hopefully I'll have a beautiful garden for next summer. Not much chance o using it today, there's an autumnal feel in the air and its only the 11th of August!
Better go and get dressed, start work (from home :j)
No doubt the kids will be up soon, DD will be in a strop about something or making unreasonable demands to go somewhere or make noise about sleepovers etc.
I seem to have their friends over a lot for sleepovers, very rarely reciprocal which grates after a while as I'm not keen on the concept as i don't like having to be on best behaviour in my own home.
A lot of their friends are picky eaters as well which annoys me, expect a choice of desert and drink all the lemonade whilst leaving a trail of destruction around the house! Don't get me wrong I like the fact that the kids want to invite fiends round but why can't they go and visit them for a change?
Rant over!!
Catch up soon xx0 -
great to see you back choogirl
a nice garden sounds great.
That would drive me nuts with all the sleepover hosting/people not taking turns, and the fussy eaters
How did you find it setting up on your own/starting the self-employment? I'm just starting to look into this myself and really want to but am a bit scared as it feels like such a lot of responsibility!
Great news on the new job too, I know you were getting very frustrated at your old place :T0 -
Ah that would annoy me too with the constant stream of kids. As it happens, my 15 year old is very anti-social and has hardly any friends  so I think i'd like a few more stragglers just to know he's actually got one or two! We've had his girlfriend over and that's it! I expect I will be moaning in a few years though when it's DS2 & DD's turns for inviting over theirs
Hope you do stick around! Now that i'm DF I still feel just as motivated coming on here as I used to when faced with the debtxx

Fussy eaters drive me mad, especially as my own kids would go to a friends house and eat what was put in front of them.
It's been relatively easy to set up a few self-employed clients, I had one or two previously but when I started to get really hacked off with the old boss I advertised a bit more and got a couple of new clients. I've just got another new client through a recommendation and I'm hoping that I'll go totally self-employed by this time next year.
The tricky bit is juggling everything at the moment, but I'm sure it will get easier.
I've just got to organise myself better with regards to making sure my own business accounts are up to date, ie practice what I preach!0
