morning choo
My ds1 is the same before he would quite happily buy tesco or asda clothes now he's a little more fussy, not as bad as some of his friends though thankfully lol. I have signed up to Gap & next newsletters and gap often send me 30-40% off vouchers to use so perhaps you could try that on some of the brands he does like. And also use cashback so all in all not too bad
I took him to primarni at the beginning of the month and he was happy to buy in there so i let him go off with a basket and he filled it up with jeans, chinos, t-shirts, shoes, trainers etc etc lol and his lot came to around £100  but when i look on a brand website i realise he could of only got a pair of jeans & 2 shirts for that price and he has a whole wardrobe full now plus he bought school shoes & trousers & a tie from that money (for a funeral but can use for school too)
Even though i still have my debt i also have a little savings pot going, mine is for my reiki II it's always good to have something to aim for makes the ebaying seem worth while (almost) lol xxMortgage Overpayments 2024/25 - September-December, £152.46. Hi choo, well done on the payrise and the garden idea sounds lovely.0

Good Afternoon
Thanks Pennywise x
DFW - I ended up going to Gap with him and we got a few bargains x
Its very wet and cold here and I've put the heating on.
Grocery shopping is done but instead of been MSE and going to Ald* first and then top up in Mr S I just did all my shopping in Mr S and boy the price difference is phenomenal. I think its cost me £15 more by just shopping in Mr S, lesson learnt I suppose but I just wanted to stay warm and dry so opted to shop in one place instead of the usual 2!
Ebay sales went well over the weekend, I have made £83.27 profit so some is been allocated to the Olympics fund, some to another fund for childrens summer clothing, my clothing pot and then DS made a small profit on some of his toys so I'll give him that. I'm still waiting for a buyer to collect an item tomorrow which is cash on collection and that will be allocated to the garden makeover fund.
So I am now adding £136.88 to the £2012 challenge, made up of nectar points, a survey payout, free Mcds coffee and Ebay sales.
I am desperate for some new work clothes but I'm loathe to spend any money on anything other than jumpers at the moment so will hold off for a few more weeks. I'm hoping to take DD on a shopping trip over the next few weeks so I'll have a look then.
I've got the stove all ready to light tonight ready to watch The Apprentice so we'll be warm and cosy. I haven't bothered lighting it over the last couple of nights but its so damp today and I want some comfort and warmth!
Better go and get some dinner ready, its pizza, wedges and salad tonight so a nice easy one.
Hope everyone stays warm and dry xxx0 -
Hi Choo,
Cant blame you for doing the shopping in one place, its flipping freezing out today!
Im glad the ebay sales went well, thats a fantastic amount! Well done you.
Enjoy your cosy night in xxMummytogirls x0 -
Good Morning
Thanks Mummy xx
The buyer came to collect the item so I have updated my signature accordingly :j
The ebay pile is decreasing but last week was manic with packaging and posting everything that sold, I have more items on to end today but only 2 bids so far so it might be an easier week.
Not much to report really, the house was cleaned really well on Thursday but I don't know why I bother really, its like painting the Forth Bridge! Why can't everyone just tidy up after themselves?
The washing schedule is working well, no-one has complained yet so I'll plod on with it :T
List for today- Bedding washed - needs to be put out on line (fingers crossed it stays dry)
- Buy a new folder for building project
- Start a monthly meal plan - I read about a lady who plans a month at a time but depending on the season varies the menu accordingly. She then files the plan away after using it for the month and uses it the year after. Sounds like a good plan.

Popping in to say thanks for posting on my thread, have subscribedPrepare for the unexpected - £477.02 / £10000 -
Good Evening
Sorry I've been AWOL for a few days, life is hectic as per usual
Hi Eliza :hello: Thanks for subscribing, I tend to rabbit on about the same old drivel but it keeps me sane.
DFW - this is where the meal planner and ideas are lurking

DH was paid on Friday, the tax code change has made us £15 a month better off so I will hopefully save this up towards the garden refurbishment. Its pay day for me tomorrow, good job as the bank account was struggling. May shouldn't be too bad and we should be back on track again.
The washing plan is working well apart from when DD presented me with 3 school cardigans on Friday afternoon and completely messed up my rota, she stashes them in her school drawer. I've had many conversations with her that the drawer doesn't need to be kept warm and they would be much better on her.
Ebay sales went well again over the weekend, poor DD isn't going to have anything left to wear soon as its all her clothes that I've been getting rid of. We had a bit of a stand off at one point and she got upset as I was selling her favourite top, the promise of a new one seems to have stopped the tears!
I was so pleased to see and feel the sun today, I don't know how long the rain will have gone for but its certainly lifted my mood today; even the cat was fed up with all the rain
Hope everyone has a lovely evening xxx0 -
Good news about the extra pennies in hubby pay packet.
Oh no about DD, my daughter is the same, i have to sneak things away, they can be 3 x too small for her and she will insist she can still get in it.0 -
Good Evening
Pennywise - my DD squeezes herself into skirts that are sometimes bordering on indecent but they've all gone now.
I'm struggling with spending money at the moment. I would like to buy some new clothes and have seen lots of lovely things in the shops but I pick them up and look at the price and think I'm not paying £x for that! Its not as though I don't have the money as I have a small clothing allowance every month but I find it so hard to part with money now. I try and spend as little as possible each month from my allowance just so I can transfer the money into my piggybank. I just need to let go and relax abit more, but its so hard.0
