Good Morning

Its a lot warmer over here this morning and the sun is out :j

I received £43 of ebay money over the weekend so will add that to my signature now and also cashed out another £5 amazon voucher last night (will add to my signature when thats received)

Not much to report, just a busy week with a couple of meetings, vat return to do and just a general catch up before we go ski-ing :j I'm soooo excited, I haven't started the packing yet but hope to start tomorrow night.

Mr S are having a 25% off sale on clothing today so I'm going to pop in and see if I can find some new pjs for my hols and DS is in need of more new chinos.

The weekly list

Keep up with washing/ironing
Keep up with tidying the house (flylady has temporarily been put on hold)
Sort out my car insurance as it expires whilst we are away
Meal plan and write a shopping list for when we return

Its pancake day so I also need to get some plain flour when I pop into Mr S.

I was abit bored at work yesterday and as is the usual case my mind drifted off and I worked out how much the kids pack ups cost me each day. I worked out that they cost £1.30 each but school lunches cost £2.20 so a saving of £0.90 each day is pretty good going.

Right I'm waffling, better get on as I have stacks to do before the end of the week xxxx

Ps will catch up with diaries tonight xxx

Good Morning

We're back and we've had a fantastic time away. The ski-ing was awesome and I'm glad that we managed to get away this year and realised how much I missed it last year. Up in the mountains is the best place in the world to be, beaches don't do it for me but been up in the mountains is the best place in the world!
We overspent by about £120 so not too bad in the scheme of things, the kids have progressed well. I didn't fall over once, so no bruises or broken bones for me this year. I just want to go back now but unfortunately budget or knees won't let us.

Anyway back to reality; my desk is covered and my inbox is busy so I need to crack on and make a start. The unpacking at home has been started and I have piles of washing to be done but that can be done over this week and packed away at the weekend. I have my flylady list ready so I'm aiming to keep on top of that this week. Our personal finances need jigging about this week, DH credit card bill needs paying by tomorrow which has the holiday cost and kitchen deposit on it  so its going to be a pretty tight couple of weeks until payday.

The kids are having school lunches today and I've bought a salad on my way into work as there is no food in the house. I need to do a quick shop on my way home from work for pack up materials and a couple of dinners.

A survey site sent me a £5 amaz@n so I've added it to my signature.

Hope you all have a lovely day xxxx

Good Morning

Hi Mummy and Pennywise - i feel really guilty because I haven't popped onto your diaries for ages - sorry will do so tonight :D

The finances took me ages to do last night, but we're all reconciled again and it will be tight until payday but we will survive. DH credit card has been paid today but at least all the holiday is now paid for and not sitting around for months on end as in the bad old days :o I had even over-saved  most unheard of usually so the beautiful pair of ski-boots that I purchased for myself will now be paid for without having to do any rejigging of the finances next month. :T

I've finally realised that credit cards are not all evil if they are managed properly and can help out a situation on a temporary basis, for example my car insurance was due and normally I would have paid by debit card but because cash flow was a little tight this month I've used DH credit card and will repay it in full at the end of March when we've been paid again. The money is saved up for it but I didn't want to be overdrawn due to the kitchen deposit having to be paid.

We're also planning on buying all the purchases for our extension on the credit card and paying it straight back, thus giving us the protection and earning a few airmile points for a future holiday :D

The diet started yesterday, I did really well by resisting the biccies at coffee time and made a lovely thai chicken salad for dinner last night.
My pack up today consists of a feta, pomegrante and coriander cous-cous salad, cucumber, carrot, grapes, banana and a tub of jelly.

I need to start doing some form of exercise as well, still thinking about that one.

Catch up soon xxx
