  • Well this not having a laptop lark is doing my head in lol but I am keeping up with everyone via DS's IPOD, I have just managed to pinch his PC for 5 minutes!

We have found a really nice house and the agents believe the landlord will be happy with foster children so hopefully its all systems go. It is a bit out of our price range (with debt repayments) but instead of the normal credit checks they want 3 months of bank statements which is ideal as my wages will show still :-) Once we have passed all the checks the decision has been made that I will go onto a DMP rent comes first! Before the DMP is put in place I am going to be a little bit naughty on kays and order a sofa ours it approx 30 years old and had it!

Once the DMP is in place DH will start to save a for a deposit on a house and for full and finals on the debt (debts in my name!) Everything is moving forward will have to do an SOA later based on what the new rent figures will be.

  • NTO - Your husband looks fab as tigger!

Not heard anything about the house yet but should do soon they said it could take upto 2 weeks, I really really really want it will be so dissapointed if we dont get it now.

We have spent all weekend getting this house in order, did a bit more papering in the living room. There are 2 patchs of ripped wallpaper one is DS's room he picked at it when he was having trouble at school and one in DD1s room which I think was already there but I cant be certain, rather than re-paper the 2 rooms, I am going to do buy 2 sets of wavey mirrors from Ikea at £10 that should save us some much needed money. I dont want them to have any excuse not to pay the deposit back.

  • We were put in rented property for a year, whilst the flood damage to our house was done.
The deposit was my biggest worry, every scuff, spill sent me into a blind panic.
we had £50 witheld because the grass hadnt been cut, even though i had reseeded it as it was barren when we moved in.
The house in Cheddar is it close to the village?:D

The deposit is a nightmare we have £700 tied up in our current house which as letting agents no longer hold the deposit themselves it goes into a trust it can not be transferred to the new property. We are lucky I returned to work in December which was full time and worked my notice so had a full months wages of mine which I put aside, We are £50 short which I can take out of the food budget.
We didnt get the one in cheddar this one is on the way into cheddar - lympsham, if you go onto rightmove its 4 bed the only one there but it is still close enough and in the correct county. Travel costs into cheddar should drop by at least £100 p/m heating costs should also drop as its double glazed and just more cozy. It also has a burgler alarm!!!

Can you tell I like it lol

I have just applied for a current account with Lloyds as they are not linked with any of my debts, i'm not sure they will accept me, I put WFTC and Child Benefit down as my income but I have 2 other bank accounts up to the limit on ODs! So It may have to be a co-op basic which I wanted to avoid.

  • Hi
had to have a nose and it is lovely, fingers crossed. Before my mum and dad passed away they lived in Woolavington,nr Bridgewater. So we had many trips to Burnham. We also went to Haven there in 2010.
Why werent we all as sensible with money in the past as what we are now...I had that same worry with bank accounts when Nationwide took our overdraft away .I had to find an account luckily i opened one in my name with Nat west.It was a difficult time(story of my life) but now we have no overdraft ,not necessarily by choice, they wouldnt let me have one when i asked about a year ago.

Hope it all goes to plan and decisions all go in your favour,:D

  • I haven't really ventured into Burnham much we have only lived in the area for 11 months 2 weeks and 4 days (approx :rotfl:) DS had some friends from our previous town who holidays every year in Burnham and last year he met up with them.

Well I havent stopped today by rights I should be a size 0! but hey ho I'd only have to buy new clothes which I cant afford I would like to drop a size and be a 12 again but all in good time.

I have glossed the banister as DD1 decided it would look pretty with her art work the problem is the baister rail has loads more woodwork coming off from it and its a yellowy colour (previous tennants either used cheap gloss or smoked) the skirting is also a yellowy colour I am going to paint any wood directly joined with the staircase but should I also paint the rest??? :o I have also packed about 10 boxes and packed them back nicely we haven't even had the go ahead on the house yet, but if they say yes I want this one ready for people to view.

New sofa arrived today so :D:D:D

    Enough Babbling from me!

  • We got a 2 seater and a 3 seater leather sofa from kays its really nice our living room is starting to look nice we just have to finish the pappering and gloss and we are done. The paper is cheap though and rips easy so we keep putting it off what is up looks nice though lol.
