Candygirl: My brother was a headmaster and on the last day of his OFSTED one of the inspectors called into the reception class and asked if they had a dressing-up box. The teacher promptly launched into a spiel about role-play etc, using as many current educational cliches as she could think of. When she had finally run out of steam the inspector, looking somewhat bemused, said that she only asked because she had some hats in her car and wondered if the teacher would like them.

Valk_scot: What a nice person you are to accommodate such a grump. If I caught Madam casting her eye over my housework I'd say,"It's very difficult to get a balance between housework and the important things in life, when you are a truly creative person, don't you find?" But then I'm not a nice person.
Julie G: Good luck with your ex. Poor little DS, the contact time is supposed to be for HIS benefit isn't it?
Molly: So pleased the news is good.
jannyannie: good luck with the job. Too many chiefs and not enough Indians in the NHS.
Jaxx: it must take you all your energy just to keep going.
NPM; The pink mixer sounds great. About time something really nice happened for you.
Candygirl: Had to laugh at Boo refusing to play ball with the HV. When an HMI came to inspect my teaching in my probationary year, (do they still do that?) he asked a small boy, "Would you like to read to me?" "NO, thank you," said child and moved away smartly and sat on the Inspector's hat. I still passed!
[B]Uolypool: Your DD is using a well known tactic - 'you are stopping me doing what I want so I'll punish you by not speaking to you' - I think at this point you are suppose to be so upset that you apologise (with tears if poss.) and cave in gracefully. Yeah. Right. Have you had, "It's my life," yet. If not it'll be on its way I promise, to which the only answer is, "It's your life when you are paying for it."

After chickening out of using the SC for 2 years and finally got the measure of it, I can't leave it alone now. Another batch of spag bol sauce is bubbling away as we speak ready for the Lasagnes I intend to make for the freezer.
Nope not got that yet , she is still being silent, boy is it quiet:T. The school saw the lovebite during pe today according to the phonecall I got and she was halled infront of her head of year. Dont think she would want to go there again in a hurry:rotfl::rotfl:. Has a week of lunchtime sitting at the teachers table so she is not alone with the 'boyfriend' so think she hates them more than me atm. Serves her right disgusting things they are horrible things , in my day at school they were called something else;). Have pulled in the big guns my niece, she was a wild child I lost count of the amount of times me and my ex collected her from the police station ,sat in court with her and acted as responsible adults. If anyone can get through to her she will. But she now has no internet access .OMG she will die without b loody facebook.Shame;)Paul Walker , in my dreams;)0 -
ButterflyBrain - thank you. This is OH's 3 stone I think but he hasn't had one for a couple of years, they are horrible, not had one myself but can see the pain he is in.
Uolypool - don't know how old your DD is but mine is now 16 - she has quite levelled out now - don't seem to have as much door slamming but phew she has driven me mad over the years.
NPM - love your new gadget.

Very busy and stressful day! Work kids did their end of team presentation. It's always a very stressful day and they were all nervous so started bickering, but as always they pulled it together and did fabwas very proud of them. And the lovely kids bought me a box of chocs and bottle of wine, and got army man a crate of beer :A. Tomorrow is their last day, and we are going out for lunch. It's also army man's last day tomorrow
I'm really gonna miss him (and not just cos he is hot! he wore his uniform today
), we get on very well , he makes me laught. But I reckon we will stay friends.
So after all that I needed to chill so went out for dinner with the girls to Chiquitos. Had a lovely meal and catch up. Then I popped to my nan's to say hello, and pick up my spare key for my car which my Dad had. My Dad also left my mail and some runner beans with my nan for me. In my mail was the proper invite for the NZ wedding I'm going too.
Off to bed now, probably won't sleep as I'm too excited about picking up my new car tomorrow evening!! :j

Evening all,
Really nice day here to-day, cheered me up no end!
Went to a coffee morning for the hospice foundation this morning and met lots of old friends I hadn't seen for ages, so that was nice, then to supermarket....had some vouchers so wasn't as painful as it could have been. Home to finish dinner of ham, cabbage and spuds, pick a few more windfall apples and take them to neighbour, chatted for a while, and have been washed out ever since....should be in bed but just sat at fire and vegged....bed in a few minutes.
Beth....sorry to hear about DD's problem....hope that she and colleagues are ok....makes me wonder what people are thinking of sometimes.
Taplady....hugs
Janny....good luck with job application.
NPM....soooo jealous, but you deserve it more than me. Foccaccia looked wonderful.
Can remember your name, but welcome to Newbie....you will like it here, only some of us are mad!
Lou...enjoy your holiday.
Molly....glad the news was good.
JackieO....you really are a wonder....how do you keep going so much.
Swimming was good last night, nice to be back to it, but I really need more practice and more exercise as get tired far too quickly.
Islandmaid....have had four teenage daughters so really don't want another, thanks....would offer a 71 year old husband to anyone who wants one, one careful owner of 41 years standing.....FOC to good home.
Uolypool....don't weaken, you are the boss, not the slave.
JulieG...hugs for your little boy....
Hugs to all in need or want of one, stay safe and sleep well

just caught up on the great british bake off, that rob has amazing eyes!
npm, i am jealous!
i feel terrible for all you with teenage daughter woes....not that it's any consolation, but they seem like angels compared to me at that age- i was terrible, and that was only what my mum knew about!! I like to think i got it out my system early though, I didn't go to uni, straight into a full time job then moved out at 19, didn't have much time for playing up then, as had to keep a roof over my head! - When my friends were out drinking and causing havoc at uni i found the whole thing a bit boring!
But .... look at me now, i turned out alrightAnnual Grocery Budget £364.00/£1500
