  • Morning my lovelies.
Chilly in the house this morning so not sure how long I can make the wee kids endure no heating. If it was me and H the no brainer but not sure it's fair on the kids.
Plans for today are to head up the park, maybe mooch in the charity shops. DD wants to get out of the house and since she's back in nursery this morning it has to be.
Not sure what OS going on besides the usual WM, BM rota.
Managed to remember to put the paddle in the BM this morning so at least I wont have to attempt to knead by hand like last night LOL

Not sure what's for tea yet.

Molly do please your letter finally came xx
Julie hugs for your DS xxx
    rappers hugs for you xxxx
Hugs and spoons all round, have a good day OS or not.

DS had a bad day at schoo after settling well....his new teacher who he gets on with and seems to "get" him has fallen and broken several ribs so she is now off sick for a few weeks:(....cue worry from DS as he is now having suppy teachers in....I hope they get the same one for a few weeks and not a situation where they change them everyday.
Going to make HM focaccia today and some pasta as DH working late.
Big news for DS...he ate shepherds pie yesterday:rotfl::T another meal I can sneak veg into;)
Jannyannie that happened on a couple of wards at my hospital after I left.....just beware .....the management seem to have taken the opportunity to get rid of staff with childcare issues and other caring responsibilities during the interviewing process....sly gits:mad:

Morning all, am cooking on gas this morning - despite an interrupted night thanks to Daisy. (puppy!)

Have taken children to school and vac'd and moped house - not because of accidents, but cos it needed it. Then (partly due to the meeting tonight and the upcoming AGM) have sat down with my PTA stuff and realised that I'm not half as behind as I'd thought I was. So - letter going off today to the Town Council asking them to grant us a coffee morning to raise funds, notes made on the agenda so I will actually have something to say at the meeting - useful as I'm secretary!!! And now my thoughts turn to Christmas.

Only in so far as the PTA fair goes - but have to admit to nearly being all there as regards presents!! Gorgeous day - but chilly, so have puppy sat on my lap keeping me warm - bless. Right - better get on as the house still looks like a tip!
Hugs to those in need - glad you got the news you wanted Molly x
Me, OH, grown DS, (other DS left home) and Mum (coming up 80!). Considering foster parenting. Hints and tips on saving £ always well received. Xx

March 1st week £80 includes a new dog bed though £63 was food etc for the week.

    Hi everyone,

I'm killing time waiting for DS. We're off to the smoke to visit Apsley House (the Wellington museum) but he was supposed to be here in time for us to catch the 10.15. I rang him at five to only to wake him up, so plans have been put back a bit. The poor lamb works very long hours and yesterday was a late one so I don't mind. It'll be lovely to have a day out by ourselves, I often go out with DD but less often with DS.

DH has gone to Derby on business.

I've not got much os to report, I've been struggling a bit with my health lately so things are getting behind. Hopefully I'm on the up now.

ETA: My thanks buttons now seem to have disappeared, they were there before I posted.
JG, I hope your ex takes on board your suggestions re DS.

    Tappers, hugs for you.

    Bitsy, good luck this afternoon.

Anybody I've not mentioned, it's because of my memory, not because I wasn't interested or concerned.

Morning ladies, Chilly here today, chilly atmosphere in the house with dd as well, still carrying on from yesterday:mad:. She didn't come home straight from school and had her phone switched off, left a message asking her to phone me and let me know what time she will be home. She rolled in just before 8 , had been iceskating with her friends as arranged and the 'boyfriend' had tagged on:mad:. She went upstairs to get changed threw a megga strop at the loss of laptop in her room and then I saw a huge lovebite on her neck:mad::mad::mad:. Furious furious furious. Most definately is grounded that was the last straw. So she went to school this morning not having said a word to me since just after 9 last night.
Am going to have to think long and hard about this situation , never had it before.HELP

Anyway I hope everyone is well ( will read thread once posted this), hugs where wanted and /or needed.
Dinner is lasagne with salad and garlic bread.
Need to clean the bathroom and downstairs loo , and a quick wiped down/ sweep everywhere else.

    Hi all.

Taplady - what a sad day. My thoughts are with you and your friend's family.

Hugs to all those who are feeling poorly today.

The sun is beaming today. We are getting quite cold early starts but, by mid-morning it's lovely, so I've been hunting out washing to make the most of the drying weather.

I have made two loaves of bread, one walnut loaf, and one tea loaf, so that should keep us going for a while. I think I'll ice the walnut loaf with some olain glace icing.

Dinner tonight is something made with pork and the magic sauce that I found the recipe for on one of the forums here yesterday. I'll serve it with some roast peppers and mash. Pudding will be baked apples to use up some of the apples I have in store.

Well, DH has quoted on a huge job in a house not too far from here; there's loads of work so, hopefully, the owners will be pleased with the first job he does on Monday, and get him to do the rest. He reckons there's at least three months' work, which will be great and will see us through the worst of the winter, when things are usually very quiet.

Well, I have another load to peg out on the line so I shall go and do that now.

    Morning all,
Up really early again, so deceided to crack on and do 2 hrs ironing and 1hr gardening. I packed DH off with his lunch to DD1's, she phoned this morning to say she and the other Tutors spent the night in hosp. One of them went back to the hosp because of stomach pains so the hosp recalled the others in as a precaution. She's home now, the Police are being informed about the situation. It definitely wasn't descaler.
I've just received my order from Appro Food, all stuff still in date at a great price, 6 large jars of Tom & chilli pasta sauce for £2.94 works out at 49p per jar. Loads of spices & oils. So I might make a chilli for dinner as I have loads of ys mince in the freezer. I'm going to bake some cheese scones and some quiches for DH's packed lunch to make a change from sarnies.

JULISG, Hope the chat with ex goes well for your DS's sake.
VALK, Hope the dinner with the "couple" goes well.
    JAXX ((((hugs))))
    TAPLADY (((( hUGS))))

Morning, gorgeous day but a bit nippy here, enjoyed my dogwalking this morning, even he put a bit of a trot on going to greet his doggy friend,he usually just plods along sniffing :)

Got the bm on,dw finished, and chicken stock in the pressure cooker is just cooling down and we're having fish for tea.

I'm out after lunch with DN and baby to visit a baby shop opening here,he is growing so fast that he needs some more clothes, and long sleeves now its getting cooler.I will miss her when she goes back to work after Christmas. She has put his name down at nursery for 3 days a week,as both she & her mum get a day off a week, but those days off change,so I am going to mop up the days when they cant have him,and as Dn put it 'the rough end of the stick,if he's ill and can't go to nursery'!

Hugs to all in need -I havent caught up with all the news but gather your DD is in need of TLC Beth, will read later, and Molly glad it was the news you were hoping for.JG hope DS is ok today.
    xx

  • Good morning all (just) I did the school run, popped into the Drs for my regular presciption and bought an Itunes voucher and card for the 50th birthday I'm off to on Saturday night. Then went back to dds and hung a line of washing out for her and put a quick wash on and while it was doing I whizzed around with the cleaner and washed all the breakfast bits up so when she comes home tonight it will be tidy in the kitchen and the washing basket will be emptied (and hopefully all dry) as its a beautiful autumn day here .I did a wash last night, which I put out at the crack of dawn this morning so that's on the line at the moment (sheets etc) so I will get those in shortly and whizz the iron over them.I pick the boys up at 3.30 so I will have time to put my feet up for a little while and have some lunch. Then its all go ahgain until DD gets home at around 6.15-30 then I can come home and relax. No wonder the days just whistle by at the moment.Another weeks almost gone and we're half way through September already,100 days apparently until Christmas and I've only managed to buy one present so far I will have to get a wriggle on.I don't have to buy food in as I alternate between my DDs but I do get them both a turkey each plus a few bits and pieces to help out biscuits etc. I have several birthdays before christmas though so its always a busy time trying to think of what to get Well time to get a shift on
Take care everyone and if you have it enjoy the sunshine while you can
