Hi I have been lurking for a short while and have decided to take the plunge and join in.

Trying hard to reduce our outgoings and also become debt free asap.

Also following the flylady thread in the hope that I can eventually get on top of the mess!

NPM I have dogs on prescription diet and you can get it online from a pet pharmacy and it is a lot cheaper.
  • Hi everyone

I've been sooo busy for the past few days at work (unpaid overtime ) that I haven't had time to get online so hope everyone is OK and (((hugs))) to anyone in need. I'll have a read and catch up with the posts in a minute.

All is well here, except that every kind of electrical appliance I touch seems to want to break. Following on from the demise of the WM, the fridge/freezer has started leaking water (although fingers crossed it might just be in need of a defrost... it's been a while :o) and the kettle is being temperamental too. It's been an expensive month already with car repairs and forking out for a new WM that we can ill afford right now :(.

To add to my list of woes I also made the fatal error of getting on the scales yesterday  - I'm just a glutton for punishment! :rotfl:

On the OS front - not much to report :o. I've got a mountain of tomatoes to process into pasta sauce for the freezer (assuming it's still with us!) but will probably do that tomorrow as I have a day off. Dinner tonight is fish, chips and veg from the freezer because I am too tired to contemplate doing anything else :o - definitely a CBA day!

Valk_scot: What a nice person you are to accommodate such a grump. If I caught Madam casting her eye over my housework I'd say,"It's very difficult to get a balance between housework and the important things in life, when you are a truly creative person, don't you find?" But then I'm not a nice person.
Julie G: Good luck with your ex. Poor little DS, the contact time is supposed to be for HIS benefit isn't it?
Molly: So pleased the news is good.
jannyannie: good luck with the job. Too many chiefs and not enough Indians in the NHS.
Jaxx: it must take you all your energy just to keep going.
NPM; The pink mixer sounds great. About time something really nice happened for you.
Candygirl: Had to laugh at Boo refusing to play ball with the HV. When an HMI came to inspect my teaching in my probationary year, (do they still do that?) he asked a small boy, "Would you like to read to me?" "NO, thank you," said child and moved away smartly and sat on the Inspector's hat. I still passed!
Uolypool: Your DD is using a well known tactic - 'you are stopping me doing what I want so I'll punish you by not speaking to you' - I think at this point you are suppose to be so upset that you apologise (with tears if poss.) and cave in gracefully. Yeah. Right. Have you had, "It's my life," yet. If not it'll be on its way I promise, to which the only answer is, "It's your life when you are paying for it."

After chickening out of using the SC for 2 years and finally got the measure of it, I can't leave it alone now. Another batch of spag bol sauce is bubbling away as we speak ready for the Lasagnes I intend to make for the freezer.

NPM jealous of your pink gadget, but peed off about Noah's teacher going off already:(:(
Just got Boo here completely refusing to do the shape sorters and jigsaws. She can do the, but wanted a custard cream instead:rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:The HV has flagged it up as an area of concern for her coordination, but seeing as she is bright as a button we're not bothered:D:D:D

ds isnt really interested in puzzles either. he can do 2/3/4 piece ones but loses interested in anything bigger. and if he's done it once he wont do it again *rollseyes* same with shape sorters, they're just no interest to him. yet ask him about thomas and he will tell what colour they all are, what number they are, where the tender is, the funnel, the whistle.... :o the boy is ever so slightly obsessed :rotfl: tbh shape sprters and puzzles are boring compared to most toys these days. he must prefers duplo and thats good for co-ordination as is putting trai track together :D

Candygirl: My brother was a headmaster and on the last day of his OFSTED one of the inspectors called into the reception class and asked if they had a dressing-up box. The teacher promptly launched into a spiel about role-play etc, using as many current educational cliches as she could think of. When she had finally run out of steam the inspector, looking somewhat bemused, said that she only asked because she had some hats in her car and wondered if the teacher would like them.

    Hi everyone,

I had a lovely day in London with DS. Uolypool, there is hope, my two are so lovely to be with, although tbh dd was a model teenager and ds was stroppy sometimes but not too bad.

As for Ofsted an inspector observed a geography a level lesson my dd was in and at the end said to her "You asked some very intelligent questions for a girl"!

I forgot to say NPM, DH gave me a KItchenaid for Christmas last year (candy apple red) and I love it.
