My local ASDA Handsworth, Sheffield has just finished MONTHS of car park refurbishment.

I visited to day to find a new section of parking at the door, nearer than the disabled and children spots.

" low emission vehicles only"

SO ASDA only wants the new cars by their doors ??

The fact that the majority of their customers probably have older cars is pretty much ignored here.

My cars cost me around 500. I not only can't afford a newer car but it looks as if i shall have to say goodbye to ANY car after this year.

Sorry but I think this is a two fingered salute to the majority of shoppers.

Rant over.

  • £500? Stop showing off. Mines was £400.

Just park it in the low emissions spot, if anyone says anything, just say "look, zero emissions" as your out the car and the engines not running.

Park there, when they complain at you say to them that you have low emissions.

If they disagree then tell them to prove you do not.

You can ignore anything ticketlike stuck on your windscreen.

And what are they defining as a "low emission" vehicle?

Sure this isn't ASDA's way of saying no 4x4s by the door? :rotfl:

My local Asda has parking for rich, ignoramuses. They park in the taxi bays, setting down/pick up bay, hatch areas next to the disabled spaces and in the disabled spaces....

Thanks for the good humoured replies (and apologies for spelling... or keyboard dyslexia)

I have sent the manager a nice letter asking if i could interview him about the parking spaces........ I will let you know how that pans out LOL

Sorry but it just makes me angry that I recycle, reuse, cut down and try to be frugal am now downgraded because I cannot buy a car that costs 10,000 plus.

OH WELL, nothing new I suppose LOL

    The new Asda tagline, p'raps
Severe mobility issues? Well if you're being taxied around in an old banger, we at Asda say "Fu*k you! Buy a low emission car, or hobble!"

So they get to park near the door and queue half an hour trying to get out, ill stick to parking near the car park entrance and walking and i know who will be home first .
And.. if they fit electric charging points, I shall charge the leisure batteries from my caravan whilst I shop, just bob em in the boot .
