HSBC internet banking - how often do you use it now?

I'm sitting here thinking I really should login - but then I get bored with the idea and think I just can't be arsed because i'd have to go and find the damn key (and then actually use it). Ugh, what a chore.0

About 2 - 3 times a month now. Just as easy to pop into branch and use the self service machines for printing statements etc in my lunch time now.0

I was thinking about going out earlier, but then I thought that if I leave the house, for security's sake, I'll need to take a key with me to get back in - unless I leave my front door unlocked. Ugh! I suppose I should go and get the key so I can access my house - what a chore!!!It's not personal, It's strictly business.0

What are the keys?
I use HSBC online banking and just have a username to log in, then answer security questions. Is this changing?0 -
I use it daily.
The secure key is a brilliant idea, I'd rather have a slight inconvenience but know that only I can access my account. No amount of keylogging, social engineering, etc. will compromise my online banking and that's something worth 20 seconds of hassle.
I'd hazard a guess that most of the people complaining about it a)have no idea of the insecurity of standard online banking and/or b)have all their passwords written on a post-it note or unencrypted text file somewhere easily accessible. I genuinely believe that at least 80% of online fraud is totally preventable, and peoples attitudes towards their online security borders on being willingly negligent.
That being said HSBC is no longer my main banking relationship (since I stopped working for them 6 months ago or so) - I bank with First Direct now. But, be forewarned, First Direct will move to secure key in the next year or two; I knew a member of the projects team who was working on it, this is not just anecdotal.I am an IFA, but nothing I say on this forum constitutes financial advice. Was logging in every other day; now thrice a month max. Will most likely shut down accounts as have moved joint acct to Halifax and have Barclays as my main personal account.0

If you're coming from HSBC you will find Halifax's online banking as utter and complete c...0 -
From this thread, anyone would think that they'd sent you a 2kg lump of lead that you could only carry with you around your neck. Mine is in a card slot in my wallet, and doesn't cause me any problems. I always have my wallet about my person (shouldn't everyone?) so what's the big deal?I am an IFA, but nothing I say on this forum constitutes financial advice. I don't get what the problem is here either. Compared to the version used by some other banks (Barclays, Natwest I think) It is significantly smaller and easier to carry around.
I would prefer two, one for home and one for work, but instead I just but it on my keyfob with the rest of my keys and it's no problem.
People complaining about having to put a tiny bit of effort in to maintain their security may well be the same people who respond to phishing emails and need locking out of their account for their own safety."We can all fly as high as the dreams we dare to live...........unless we are a chicken" ~ Anon.0 -
I use mine almost daily. It's tucked in a pocket in my purse. And yes, I do mean purse as in the British meaning, not as in handbag (american).
My partner has his on his keyring.
Can't see what everyone is moaning about TBH.Before you ask, yes, I work for a bank, but no, I didn't get a bonus!0
