I'd be tempted to let AA driving scool aware that there instructors are failing to tell/stop people from driving through red lights.

My driving test examiner did so for me and i am eternally grateful for preventing me from breaking the law (f***ing b**h!)

Well i hope that sufficient ambiguity and smoke can be created so that OH doesnt take the rap for it or cannot be proved to be the driver. Admit nothing !
Feudal Britain needs land reform. 70% of the land is "owned" by 1 % of the population and at least 50% is unregistered (inherited by landed gentry). Thats why your slave box costs so much..

I understand your husband was driving but i cant see how the majority of the liability isnt with the instructor.

Tx all.Just requested the photo.Spoke to a lady at the ticket office and she told me that once the 3 points are on,if he gets another 3 in the first two years his licence is revoked..even better

On the (slightly) brighter side, I’m pretty sure that the 6 points in two years = retest counting only starts once you have passed your test.

Points you get before you pass the test don’t count.

    you sure?

So if you have six before you pass you immediately have to do another test?

No, if you get any more points after you pass, you lose the licence.

"Penalty points on your provisional licence
You can also get penalty points on your provisional licence before you pass your test. These points last for three years and will count under the Act. If you reach six points before you’ve taken your test, your provisional licence won’t be taken away. But if you get any more points within two years of passing your test, you will lose your licence."

You're right, points before the test do count so with three now any more in the two years after the test and it's back to the L plate.

Seems perverse but the advice to the OP has to be if OH is going to be a naughty boy again them make sure he does it before he passes his test.
  • Similar thing happened with my friend. She also requested the photo and when it came it clearly wasn't her. Hope you manage to get sorted. xx

    Makes little difference either way:

3 points on your provisional licence then another 3 points after pass = 6 points = licence lost.
6 points on your provisional licence then another 3 points after pass = licence lost.

Only difference is if you commit an offence that carries one or two points which is quite difficult to do, especially in comparison to the usual offence of a fixed camera after someone installed a new lower speed limit sign inside a hedge.

Anyone supervising a learner driver can be prosecuted for any driving offences committed, as well as the driver themselves.

Equally the supervisor is subject to the same laws as the driver, e.g. can't use a mobile, drink driving limits etc.

    No, not any just some.
