Virgin Installation Fees?

Rang up Virgin Media this morning to see if I could get a deal on the Tivo, spoke to retentions who offered me the 500gb Tivo & free multiroom with my old V+ box.
No extra monthly cost but £49.99 installation fee, rep wouldnt budge on the fee so decided not to bother. Rang back an hour later & spoke to somebody else who also said that he couldnt waive the install fee, I then said it was unfair as new customers get free installation! He asked me where I had seen this & I replied on the web site, at this he said I could now have free installation.

Apparently their only allowed to waive the install fee if you say you have seen the free install offer for new customers........:T

Can you point me in the direction for the free install please? I booked an appointment for free install but £50 activation for the tivo but when I looked on the site it now says free activation but £50 installation :question: both free would be nicer

From what I can see a new custiomer taking an 18 month contract to get a Virgin bundle including Tivo would get a free box and free installation, but an existing customer has to pay £49.99 for installation (although the 500GB box is still free). Seems rather unfair. Going to grit my teeth and give them a ring and try to get something better! I want a box but don't see why I should have to pay for installation when they have had ££££s from me over the years as it is!

I could see no mention of an installation charge in the
Virgin flyer. I couldn't read the small print! If you're a long-term loyal customer it might be worth complaining and asking for the installation fee to be waived Don't bother phoning the robot call centre though, speak to "if you are thinking of leaving Virgin Media" disconnections.

Same here free Tivo Box, free installation and activation-old box getting moved upstairs too-very pleased!:j Also coming friday, I called yesterday.
