Ok, the moment of truth am testing ps3 now.See if I have done it right.

Ok the nat settings on ps3 have now gone back to moderate.
On the final page of the netgear portforwarding is a box with all 4 names things but at top is age of empire which has a slighly different ip address 192 168.4 instead of 192.164.2 i never did anything to that is that the reason it hasn't worked?


Should have said 192.168.1.2 i had to add the 2 to final box has it said invalid ip address

is it because its a beta game? I cant get over how difficult this is compared to the xbox.But anyway thank you for all your help.

Thanks for that, we don't have that game on ps3, think he has it on xbox!! I'm giving up for the evening, it's done me in lol! Thanks for all your help everyone, shall try tomorrow!

do similar ie click on add new custom service changing 5223 to 3478 , then 3479, and then 3658

Ok, have followed those instructions and its still on moderate, I guess I am stilll doing something wrong, should i have done the same added a 100 at the end of that age-of-empire box?I managed to take a screenshot of final page of netgear after doing above, saved screenshot to word but cant see how to post it here:o would that help? Many thanks again.

The age of empires bit will be a red herring as far as the PS3 goes, to copy a screen shot I use photobucket.com .

Ok I have tidied it a bit so others can see it better.;)
That seems ok, so Is your router address 192.168.1.1 ? and you have the PS3 set to 192.168.1.100 ?
The easiest way to tell for your router is to do this
press start then run and enter cmd and press enter (or press windows key and r together and enter cmd in the run box)
in the black window that comes up enter ipconfig /all
Then look for the line that says Default Gateway and say what it is it should be 192.168......
