    Candygirl: Entirely agree about NHS and Education and if anyone is remotely interested I can tell you why. Centralisation. When they closed all the Cottage Hospitals and small village schools and started transporting little children and vulnerable patients miles away to great mega buildings where there are thousands of patients and schoolchildren, people stopped being individuals. Patients are just bodies being processed and children are no longer children. In official papers children are now 'units of resource'. I think that says it all. In years to come our descendants are going to wonder what possessed us to organise things so cold-bloodedly.

    Why aren't we all in government? I've heard more commonsense on this forum than in any manifesto.
