No true, I have been told similar by other people that it can take up to 2 years to get a job.

Official stats say as a graduate that you should be looking at a job earning 18k as a first job, but no one seems to be that lucky ever.

Of course, but I do not think I am mega employable, so I doubt I will walk into a job straight away.

Its all figures with you graduates!

    I want 18k or nothing!

I took my 1st job because I neede the money, I was 17 and left college as it wasn't me. I worked in a bakery, mixing vats of dough, cleaning and hated it. Mum said I could leave when I got another job, so I did and moved on till I found a job that I liked.

I am not set on 18k, 14k would be fine as long as it helped me onto better things.

Phil why don't you discuss this over your previous threads on disability because they're all interlinked specially we're speaking of policies - it would've been easier for us to revisit our own posts and refer to them. Also other threads being discussed don't get sidelined and fresh topics could be brought in place of these repetetive topics for discussion - just a suggestion because personally I'm missing out several threads being buried even before it's seen the daylight - this never use to be the case - ok, everything change but I wish the changes are useful. Just as a disclaimer I say it only because it affects my interest in reading all other threads and I could be wrong or may be I'm being just plain lazy.

Interestingly my neighbour who is a retired plumber just told me recently he had no choice at all, he was sent to be a plumber and hated it his whole working life. He is now enjoying his retirement with courses on jewellery making and glass painting.
