LOL, just called in at MIL, who has cleared her cupboard of some out of date jams she has been given in hampers and so on, also a couple of HM ones. I think I'm going to make GF pancakes for lunch today mmmmmmmm!

Have to agree, if it looks ok, smells ok use it! I always buy it on offer so I would imagine the stock of tins I have are out of date.

I'm currently working my way through some golden syrup I found in my late mother's cupboard. It's dated use by 2004. It had gone rather solid (crystalised, like honey), so I warmed it up and now it's as good as new.

Of course I'd use it. I think the manufacturers deliberately put unrealistically short dates on this sort of stuff because they want people to throw it away and buy more.
