If it's taste ok and you enjoyed it, then that's all good.
We've all had a bit of a dodgey tum from time to time so just keep am eye out, shouldn't do you any lasting damage though0 -
Hi
After a busy christmas I have just looked in the fridge to find an unopened packet of Quorn bar-b-que fillet slices (the type for sandwiches) dated use by 22nd dec. these clearly got forgotten about because of all the other delicious christmas food!
I'm reluctant to throw them away cus they cost a fortune!! would you eat them?
thanks,

Yep. If they look alright, smell alright and taste alright, then they're alright. I'd eat them.

you cant see, smell or taste all food poisoning bugs!.(so sniffing n looking isnt foolproof)..its food spoilage that you can see and smell, and that isnt always harmful...up to yourself tho, just personaly,i wouldnt.

What did we do before the dreaded "Use by dates"? We used our senses (one of them being common sense) and there was very little food poisoning and very little wasteage.
I have just finished 4 pints of milk that I found in the fridge, Use by 26th Dec. Perfectly ok but far too many people would have thrown it away because they have been scared out of using their own senses to determin if it was ok or not.
OP, the fillets will be fine, I am sure, but use your own senses. Does it look ok? Does it smell ok? Does it smell ok after cooking? Does it taste ok?
Only you can tell.0 -
Not very helpful really.
