If I buy meat today for example, with an expiry date of use by today, is it safe to freeze and eat at a later date? Does that mean if I freeze it today it must be eaten on the date it's defrosted?Payment a day challenge: £236.69

I freeze and use it later - I'd probably use it on the day of defrosting to be on the safe side, although occasionally it sits in the fridge for a day and I'm still here to tell the tale. I think supermarkets err on the side of caution anyway.
Or alternatively you could cook and freeze it to reheat later. All shall be well, and all shall be well, and all manner of things shall be well.
Pedant alert - it's could have, not could of.1 -
i buy it all the time and freeze on same day, not had a problem yet0
