    <<Bramble>>sorry to hear.
Just back from sis-in-laws and we had a lovely meal in The Ship pub in Faversham last night, plus a bottle of vino AND a pud so I'm still feeling a bit stuffed at the moment.Last time we were there it was heaving with people and as a sign of the times because I think of the recession there were only us two plus two more in the restaraunt part (not that many more in the bar area either) shame because our meal was superb. We walked back to her house and I had taken Gosford Park DVD for us to watch that my DGD Holly had found for me in a CS (she takes after her Granny :))and we sat and watched it and had another glass of vino and just jawed for awhile Got to bed just before 1.00.a.m.Nice night with some 'grown up chat ' for a change.
I'm just about to use my new Hoover that DD managed to find for me via internet then I'll sit and have a cuppa and a chocolate chip cookie that I made yesterday, before going to DDs for scrabble and dinner late afternoon. My lemon drizzle cake turned out well and my sis-in-law was very pleased to get a home made cake.Hope everyone is lucky enough to get some of the late sunshine thats in my part of the world at the moment Looking out across the River Medway at the moment and the sky is a perfect blue and the water looks so peaceful.Sad day for many folk, not only in the US but the UK as well
    Take care all
    JackieO xx
P.S.DGD also left me One Day to read as she had read it, so I'm saving it for later on to read next week

Afternoon ladies (and gents), still coughing and sneezing. Slept till 3am and then no more, couldnt get back to sleep so came downstairs and put on the Fast and furious dvd that ds3 bought me yesterday.Excellent is all I can say, Fell asleep on the sofa again just before 6 and woke up about an hour ago.Kids had just shut the front room door and left me to sleep.Dont feel quite so achy now.Am just having a cuppa and then off to have a long hot soak in the tub.Hopefully that will kill off any aches and pains that are still lurking. So I have done absolutely nothing OS today Dd has just started spag bol , bless her.She has a school trip to London on Monday and is getting worried about it being the day after the anniversary of 9/11. She watched the documentry last night on Killing Bin Laden and she was so emotional about it , she gets upset every year but this time was completley different , hopefully she will have brightened up by Wednesday as it is her 14 th Birthday ,I have bought her a pair of GHD straightners as then she may stop using mine.
Have a lovely Sunday afternoon .
Paul Walker , in my dreams;)

    Aftrnoon all,

    Remembering those affected by 9/11

Bramble....hugs for you, you know that we are all here if you want to talk...might be a good idea to move to your mum's for a while to give you a clear view of what the story is.

Windy night here last night, slept badly and managed to get myself all wound up by all the awful things that may happen in my life.....not sure what that's about, but slept later in morning, still had to drag myself out of bed to have a shower. Still windy now, no rain but overcast.

Dinner to-night will be pasta with cheesy/tomato sauce, not feeling too energetic. Cake left from yesterday will act as pudding so that should be ok, OH cooked a fry this morning so we won't really be very hungry.

We took down the cover of the gazebo this morning while it was dry and folded it up, frame can come down another day when its not so windy, any gales to come will go through frame so hopefully there will be no damage. Have been trying to persuade OH for years that we need a lean-to cover out the back, then we could leave the chairs and table out all year....he thinks it would be a waste of money...not sure who will win the battle!

Beth, glad to hear that you enjoyed your break and that you are being waited on hand and foot...try to enjoy it!

Hugs to all who are in need or want, hope that nobody is badly hit by promised gales and storms.

    Marie

  • bramble sorry to hear things are going a bit wrong for you.
It is probably a good idea to go and stay at your mums for a while. sometimes you cant think straight when you are both on top of each other and snapping at each other. It will give you time to think what you want.
As for your dad....could it be because of the stress with your grandad etc?
My dad is a recovering alcoholic too and although he hasnt drunk for ages there was a time when he would go briefly back to drink when he had something stressful happen...have a weeks binge then stop again.
it is an awful situation though and growing up with that is the reason I dont drink. DHs dad had the same problem and that is why DH and I have the same view of alcohol...we both hate the stuff.
Have a bit of time away at your mums and a good think about what you want....it will all become clear and it all does happen for a reason. If he isnt right for you it is best to know now before you get married etc.
    xx
