We had a hell of a storm overnight am glad it's fresher and not the horrible muggy weather we had yesterday. Had a good go at the front garden, that's the gardens sorted for the winter, all I have left to do is cut the japanese anemones back and give the lawns a good short cut, oh and winter lettuce to sow.

Was not impressed with ExOH last night, he and his new GF took DS to a family do and didn't bring him back until 11pm. I was desperate to go to bed and kept dozing off on the sofa, then when I went to bed I couldn't sleep .

Today we're going to my exMIL church blessing and then for a meal after. Can think of better things to do than spend the day with my ex's family but I do get on with her. Feel more sorry for DS, who has to spend his time with several younger female cousins who irritate the life out of him. They're all very girly and spoilt, am so pleased that my DS is such an OS boy who knows how to make do and mend!

Have a good day all and big hugs to all who need one.

MOrning folks - dont have a chance to post often but thought I would pop in and say HI again!. WAshing machine is on and the wind is picking up so will make the most of the forthcoming 'hurricane'. THE big soup pot is looked out and yellow split pea and ham soup is on the agenda for lunch with the gammon joint from it sliced and used on rolls,as all the family will be here then. ALso got a big pot of 3lbs of mince on at the moment with carrots and turnip and onion - this will be made into various cottage pies, both for ourselves and my dad as he is on his own and doesnt cook too much,. Going to have a go at home-made bannocks/oatcakes today also, I just have to find a good recipe for them.
I dont have much else planned other than battening down everything in the garden. I love this time of year, but feel we are a couple of weeks ahead of where we would normally be.

MUst move, take care and (((Hugs))) to anyone in need of one.

    Morning all,

Bright and breezy here today, it seems to be like that a lot in the mornings recently and then by 11 it pours down, its a bit of a race to get any washing dry. Got our bedding in the wm, and will do dd's tomorrow.

Yesterday dd and I spent all afternoon stripping the gloss off of the bathroom door, its one we got from a skip up the road ages ago :money:and it must have had 10 layers of gloss on, we did one half yesterday and will do the other today, it would be easier to buy a new door, but this one matches the rest of the 1930's doors up stairs so worth doing, OH spent the day filling and sanding, and will do a final sand today.

I need to tidy the kitchen and empty dw, and re make the bed, dinner tonight is jacket spuds, we ended up having an omlette for a quick tea last night.

Did anyone watch Dr Who ??? Loved this one, it is one of my favourites :T

    Hugs to all in need

    Have good days all.

ps Smoky, I think you may read from time to time, I often think of you and the children and wonder how you are getting on, hope you are ok xxxx

May we all take a moment today to remember the 2976 people who died 10 years ago today, a day that has changed the world x

I was up early today so went for a walk by the sea, it was high tide and very windy so lots of big waves. Lovely to blow the cobwebs away! :D

Flatmate is back from her parents today and is now unpacking her stuff in the kitchen (she makes cakes as a sideline so took half the kitchen with her as had 2 orders to do!).

No plans for today other than watching the rugby (come on Wales!), and the F1.

OS wise - DW been emptied, WM been on with towels which are drying on the electric airer. I may make some soup later too.

    Have a good day all

  • Morning all,

Slept like a baby last night, so fell much better today, no brain fog:D

Am cooking cheisken roast for dinner, but will cook the chicken early so I can make a chicken, ham and leek pie to cook later with some pasties for lunches and flapjacks for snacks.

I placed an approved food order last night, and will use the 2nd purse method, to justify the spend, lots of bargins, but lots of biscuits, and things too, so when we have a treat, will 'buy' it from myself and twice what I paid, to build up some cash towards Christmas food spend:D

Have been watching the 9/11 rememberance on TV this morning, got quite teary, especially when they said that about 80 children were made orphans but the attack - my thoughts are with any and all that were affected, in whatever way xx

The weather is bright and breezy this morning, no sign of the storm predicted as yet, will get some washing out while I can.

Have a great day all x

    Morning all,
DH & I had some special time together during our w/end break, enjoyed every minute. I had a lie in today, got up to find DH has cooked all veg to go with L/o roast beef for his dinner. I'm having tuna salad. DH has swept kitchen floor, done DW and the WM has finished.
He's running me a bubble bath, spoilt or what ?? :D So OH wise I have done nothing but DH has made up for it. :A
We are having DGD this afternoon until 1pm tomorrow, more fun. It will take my mind off the hosp app tomorrow.

IVYLEAF, Thankyou for the post, I did read it.
FLUTTER, Sounds like the Memorial was quite moving.
BRAMBLE, (((( hugs)))) to you, your DM & Dad.

It poured all night here and I had an awful night's sleep.

But it is nice this morning so I am another who is taking advantage of the dry weather and I have the bedding on the line.

DD is working from 12pm to 10pm .......I hate her working on a Sunday because I like the whole family siting down to dinner. Oh well that is what you get for Sunday trading.

I might make some bread this afternoon and catch up on some crafting.

beth positive vibes for tomorrow ((((hugs))))

    afternoon!

Thinking of all those involved in 9/11, they will never be forgotten.

Have been a busy bee - housework, taking DS to work and making some leek and potato soup. Washing on the line and more in the machine.

Later I'm hoping to fit in a bit of reading - good Nicci French book.

    Sunshine and showers here today.

Hope everyone is having a lovely Sunday.

    take care all x
