I'm really struggling to find suitable re-sealable plastic bags to put our toiletries and cosmetics in for the flight. We're only taking hand luggage so need to make sure we strictly follow the new guidelines set.
Do not worry, as far as I am aware they will give you a suitable resealable bag at the airport to put toiletries in before going through - when I went to Glasgow last November, they had boxes of them freely available where you first check in, and a notice also said that check in staff had them to distribute as well.A chicken crossing the road is poultry in motion0 -
i'm goin to take food bags just incase.purple moon think a good bet is semi chem just remember make them the small ones0

both gatwick and dublin were handing out platsic bags without any problem at all.0

I was going to say use food bags, but last time I was in Manchester airport they were giving away clear bags for you to put your stuff in.0

they do give them out but aren't obliged to, when going through stansted a few weeks ago they only had a dozen or so left according to the lady who gave me one. If i were you I'd just get some food bags. I didn't seal the one she gave me and I also forget to put mine in bags on the way back and nobody said anything!! I don't really see how they help though..anyone no why they do it?[FONT=georgia, bookman old style, palatino linotype, book antiqua, palatino, trebuchet ms, helvetica, garamond, sans-serif, arial, verdana, avante garde, century gothic, comic sans ms, times, times new roman, serif]A bank is a place that will lend you money if you can prove that you don't need it

Getting hold of the actual toiletries was a breeze as Superdrug do a fantastic range of miniatures for just about anything you might need, so just need to find bags to put it all in now!
Are they really strict about it being exactly 8" x 8" and what have other people used and where did you get them please?

LOL yes I did, plus a few other stores but couldn't find anything suitable, although it never crossed my mind to look for "food" bags. I was looking for those clear zip-top make-up bags or stationary wallet type things. I even went into a travel agents to ask their advice but they didn't have a clue either
I'm going back into town today so will have another look. I've got a clear plastic drawstring bag that I received some bath stuff in at xmas but it's a bit bigger than 8"x8" so wasn't sure they would accept it, but if as people say they've got bags at the airport anyway we could switch stuff into those if necessary.0 -
Try wilkinson for zip top food bags. They also do well as kids party bags as the stuff doesn`t fall out.0

Is it essential to put my toiletries in a bag, as I won't be carrying them in hand luggage. Everything's going in the one suitcase I've paid to take with us.In a rut? Can't get out? Don't know why?
It's time to make that change.
