there is an allocation of free or cheap seats which gets used up quickly. Even ryanair couldnt fly a plane for £2.

has anyone else struggled to find available flights for free after using the free flight link on this forum? I keep on clicking next day when searching for flights, and I've been through the whole discount period, from edinburgh to destination starting in alphabetical order, and I've found not one single flight yet. I know the flights exist, because I just tried booking normally on the main page, without logging in for the free flights using the mse link on post 130. They exist for the 1p then taxes, but appear to not be available when I try this free loophole.

    Can anyone help?
As mentioned previously, this free offer is not available on all Ryanair flights and seats and apparently covered a small proportion of them that has most likely sold out by now.
Do I want it? ......Do I need it? ......What would happen if I don't buy it??????

The only thing that annoyed Ryanair was the amount of no shows. Many people must have booked free flights then not bothered going.

can't see why this would really annoy Ryanair, they'd taken money of the no shows anyway plus no taxes have to be payed when someone doesn't fly and i guess a slightly lighter plane uses less fuel. If people don't use the flights I don't think its any skin off ryanairs nose, its money for nothing for them.
  • If five don't show for everyone that does it means they can sell the seat on to someone if they just turn up making more money and then they near enough have the money for the taxes from the no shows. The seats have only sold out on the popular routes theres still a few up for grabs on the more obscure routes.

I made a mistake with passenger names on my online booking. Because Ryanair charge something like £70 to change a name I simply made another booking for the same flight.
I then spent quite some time online and phoning their customer service dept (0870 number I believe) telling them to delete the original booking. They have no system in place to do this, and cancellations can only be made by writing to their head office. This is despite my telling them I wasn't bothered about a refund of the £2.80 or whatever I paid.

Not a great system, but no complaints abou the fares...
  • I think I might re-book and pay for the priority boarding/check-in online as there are still flights available for the ones we chose. Do you think it would be ok to do this or could it cause any complications? I get impatient in queues so would prefer to get on straight away if poss lol

The woman I spoke to in customer service said the fact that I had multiple seats booked under one name would cause no problem so long as they were on a different booking number. The 'spare' ones would be counted as a no-show.
She did not appear to appreciate my trying to get them re-sold, or to put it another way, help someone else get a cheap booking for Barcelona.
I took her word that there would be no problem.
