Man at HSBC has said he has guaranteed that i'll get my 25% back, but on the day i'dve normally paid the loan off (March 2011). He said he needed to put this on a spreadsheet(?!?!). Got his full name anyway, and will probably ring again in a week, just to confirm from somebody else, and maybe get written confirmation.

SO if you've got PPI on a graduate loan, make sure to check about repayment reward, and ring them to confirm that you'll still get it if the settlement pays off you loan. as it didn't sound like this would be automatically done.
  • does anyone have the address that comes on the envelope that you need to send the agreement back with? i've left mine at home, and just want to make sure that the address on the acceptance form "Redcliff Quay, BS1 6HU", is the same as the envelope.

I rang them and they said the same thing to me, however i got them to put it in writing in my offer letter read this for a contradicition!

"your current loan qualifies for a repayment reward, this has been recorded and you will automatically receive the reward payment on completion of your replacement loan, providing it runs for the full term"

im ringing them again this morning just to double check they`ll be sick of me after this! lol
  • omg still cant get through to them been trying for two days now

  • I got told 7 to 10 days from Monday 5th Sept. He didn't say working days but I presume that's what he meant?

If I were you I would send it in the correct address for my two offers from Hsbc (for the same loans I must add) I have had an address in Salford and the other one was Bristol.

i got a letter from fos on the 12th of aug saying that hsbc were going to be giving me my money back but id have to wait up to 8 weeks before they tell me how much it will be. my first letter to hsbc was over a year ago. the thing is im still paying the loan so when they send me my offer i will have paid at least 1 more payment possibly 2 so will they take that into consideration. im fed up with waiting for money that is rightfully mine, i sent my car tax back over 4 wks ago and got nothing back. why are these big companies so hard to get money from but if im late taxing my car or go a couple of quid over my overdraft i get penalised. sorry for all the moaning but im getting fed up now.
  • Thanks pandaspot, i would have liked to have send it off today, but i suppose i can wait till i get home and make sure that i use the right envelope :)
