Unless you know someone who would be willing to make it for you - in which case, local fabric shops, fabric markets (there's a good one in Birmingham which I'm going to for my fabric) or ebay are good places.
I must start looking.White_Sapphire wrote: »Oh, and the dress in that blog is stunning - it suits her so well.
Is that the sort of style you're thinking of, wanchai?
Possibly! I just love it. It's so simple, feminine and beautiful. I love the slightly pink hue of the skirt.
I also love these, all of which I have tried on:

http://www.sayyesbridal.com/dosel.htmlOh, I meant to say - I've been using pinterest.com to collect together different images I've come across online. It's like an online mood board. You can store images you like all on the same page and it saves a link to the original website which you can refer back to. I've found it really handy to collect together ideas on possible themes. It'd be great for you to store possible dresses, different decoration ideas, invite ideas etc.
The only problem is that it's open to anyone to view. You can only log in with a facebook or twitter account, so I created a brand new twitter account just to log in and keep it separate from my Facebook account. I don't want all my friends on FB seeing my wedding ideas. For greater privacy, you don't need to give your proper name when you actually register on pinterest.
I think it's going to come in handy.
Must check that out, thanks!OH is one of my FB friends so am defo going to have to set up an an anonymous Twitter account! Is pinterest easy to use?

Pinterest is pretty simple to use. You need to register using your twitter account - you don't need to give your actual name in the profile for pinterest. It works by adding a 'Pin It' button or link to your toolbar which is easy to do from the pinterest home page. When you're on a website with an image you like just click the 'Pin It' link and it scans that page for all images. You choose the image you want and can assign it to one of your pin boards. Basically you're adding multiple pins to your notice board.
You can search within pinterest for other images and can repin those images onto your own board. Other people can do the same to you. That's why I've changed my profile name as your name will appear against the pin. You can also follow other people if you think their images are interesting and you'd like to keep an eye on what they're doing.
Try it out with a few simple images to see how it works. It surprised me how quickly people were repinning my images and following me.0 -
I've registered without a twitter account - I received an 'invitation' from another mse bride whichallowed me to register. My account is linked to my facebook account, as I can log in via that and share my pins (which I don't do, as I want to keep stuff as secret as I can!).
Just thought I'd add that in case you're not on twitter!Marrying my lovely man on 1st September 2012

Just back from a bridal shop, the dresses were very meh, didn't like any of them.
They were all so tacky looking, think big fat gypsy wedding-type gowns!!!! The sales lady was a real pressure seller type as well, I couldn't get away fast enough!!! :rotfl:

Sorry the dress shopping didn't go well! Hopefully your next trip will be better.
None of my images that I pin go to Facebook, unless I choose to post them there. And no-one can get to my Pinterest account from my facebook page either, so no-one gets to see anything I don't want them to. If I forget my pinterest password I can log in through facebook, but it's still all kept separate, so you should be OK!
EDIT: Yes please, I would love to see possible stationery designs!Marrying my lovely man on 1st September 2012

Oh, how sweet! I love the first one in particular.
Are you going to negotiate with the artist to print the designs as invites rather than as fine art prints?Marrying my lovely man on 1st September 2012

We actually know a graphic designer so we were thinking of sending him the links and asking if he could print them for us and design the wording etc.
We may mix and match and have different prints for the invitations, RSVPs, thank you cards, menus, order of service etc - but all vintage in style so they tie in together! Would that be ok, do you think?7 Feb 2012: 10st7lbs14 Feb: 10st4.5lbs
