Sorry I haven't read through the whole thread, but I have the misfortune to be awaiting a delivery from Yodel. They have apparently attempted it twice, but no calling cards were left.

Does anyone know if you can collect from depot without the calling card?

The item turned up today without warning, so don't have to face the issue of collection without a calling card.

It really is a shambolic service though.

The reason they said they attempted delivery but didn't leave a card is, in my experience, because they're lying and never got within a mile of your house.

But maybe they're telling the truth and ran out of cards. Twice. Yeah that must be it.
  • Yodel were a joke for me I got so angry because apprenlty they couldn't find where I was I'm on a high street in a shop not very hard to find to be honest. I was be really angry towards this girl on the yodel chat and in the end I felt bad as she disconnected the chat after she had given all the information I needed. They told me there was something wrong on the address from the sender I thought they had given the wrong name or not put out store name on there or something so I didn't understand why the courier couldn't just drive up the high street as it's one long road or get out of his van and actually look. But in the end she told me the post code was wrong so he was in the wrong place well she could've told me that and I wouldn't have been so harsh towards her. I have a very short temper and the fact that I needed this parcel today really got to me it was a waste of time and caused me a lot of distress and are they going to do anything about that other than redeliver tomorrow no they're not i get that they are the middle man but still if they really are as great as they say they are they'd do anything to make anyone happy really that's what I'd do but I guess they don't have enough time on their hands to consider their customers or even drive a little down the high street and as my friends said 10/10 worst courier ever.

    So to summarise.
The address was wrong. Now they have the correct address they will attempt delivery again.

It's a good job it's not their busiest time of the year...

I'm guessing it also either did not have the shop name or had the shop name but not the street number

If they had the wrong postcode and were in th wrong place it wouldn't have mattered how far they driven down the road they wouldn't have found you.

Blame whoever supplied the wrong postcode.

If it's an online purchase (I'm guessing this was clothing the OP wanted to wear tonight) the retailer normally automatically uses the same address the purchaser enters on their site

Sooooo......the sender puts the wrong address on the parcel (or you gave the sender the wrong address) and that is Yodel's fault? On top of which you expect Yodel to compensate you?

Are you going to compensate the courier for their wasted time, fuel and other costs
