Sounds like Yodel are now 24 hours behind schedule (so no next day deliveries)??
Their customers have been complaining on twitter and are not happy:
#yodel now working with a 24 hour delay. Pick-ups seemingly abandoned

!!!!in' #yodel Now booking next day service in via pen and paper and 24 hours behind so your next day delivery becomes 48 hours. Idiots.

Last year we had the challenge of snow, this year it's Yodel, guess throwing salt on the problem will not have the same effect!

"Delivery service Yodel has been receiving a wealth of criticism in the countdown to Christmas over its delivery procedures and service levels, leaving the prospect of lots of empty spaces beneath family Christmas trees this year.
Yodel’s biggest clients include Amazon, and the online operations of Asda and Virgin – all of which are busy taking orders over the festive period – and are currently facing a flurry of complaints over missing presents. Common complaints range from undelivered items to packages arriving weeks late or damaged."

And also this Parody Yodel twitter account (The real Yodel twitter account has been totally silent since 18th November by the way!)

I ordered something from Amazon yesterday using Super saver delivery after the cutoff for pre-christmas delivery and it was delivered by Yodel today. So they can't be 24hrs behind everywhere.0

Yodel have made it through to the next round of "worst company 2011", if you are dissatisfied please vote here and let's give yodel the fame they deserve for ruining too many christmas present plans!

It's Yodel against Hermes in this round ...0 -
Had 3 packages delivered to wrong addresses last week by Yodel, 2 of which were despatched again by GetTheLabel and turned up this week whereas the other one, I had to ring Yodel 6 times and LaSenza twice, after argueing with Yodel and them saying it was with my neighbour. They said it was left at number 26 (Im No24) First of all there is no number 26 in my street and secondly I was at home last week when it was 'delivered' and noone attempted delivery so all they told me on the phone was to knock on peoples doors to find it.
I calmly explained that i've paid for delivery and shouldnt need to go round knocking on strangers doors to find something they lost (even though I did). And theyre only response was literally ''I understand sir, but its at number 26''
Anyway.. it turns out they delivered somewhere in kent instead of to me in northampton.. Not bad - only about 100 miles away. Got a refund and an apology from LaSenza as those items are now out of stock and could not despatch a new order.0 -
For it to end up in Kent instead of Northampton then the problem probably stemmed from the label. All labels will have your address, postcode etc then a depot and route code which are based upon the postcode.
Sometimes they are incorrect, causing them to end up with the wrong depot code on and sometimes the scanners just read them incorrectly and they end up in the wrong depots.0 -
Thats is a reasonable explanation Delivery Driver. I know for a fact Yodel, GetTheLabel and La Senza all had my correct address including postcode but it could have been an error - Quite a big one at that but I'm over it now, everything's sorted. Could be down to temp drivers not caring or paying enough attention and a mixture of a big christmas rush. The yodel drivers were given my phone number to ring before delivering, which they didnt.
I will though be trying to avoid Yodel after my experience with them and their customer service.0 -
The chances are that the 2 areas you mentioned aren't served by the same depot as they are so far apart. Most towns have the same street names and things like this can happen unfortunately.
Yodel is made of 2 networks atm-it sounds like you had dealings with the ex DHL side as the ex HDN side don't handle those clients.I'm not sure if their drivers have to call customers in advance but I work for the ex HDN side and its not something I've ever had to do.0 -
I agree - I had two orders coming through them, paid for named delivery on both(same day) - one turned up on Monday and the other didn't - Apparently bad weather so the courier didn't come, more like they couldn't be bothered! I told them to return it to Thorntons and I complained to them! The weather was not bad at all, what tosh!No you're not a vegetarian if you eat any animal or fish, so do not insult genuine veggies by calling yourself one!
